    Asda car park

Called at Asda today on our way home from town. As we parked up, two little boys aged about 4 and 6 were runnung round the other parked cars.
Now i think supermarket car parks are dangerous, you need eyes in the back of your head. Not far away, there was a lady about my age, and i asked her
if she knew who the kids were with. She pointed to a young woman half way down the car park, who was chatting on her mobile. So we made our way down to her
and i told her the kids were running round the parked cars. She replied yes i can see, very sarcastically, and if looks could kill, you would be one member less tonight.
    Sometimes i think why bother.

Obviously the phone call was far more important than the children,if anything had happened she would blame them not herself wouldn't she !! disgraceful

The weird thing is that the accidents tend to happen to the children whose parents take good care of them rather than the ones you describe Nan2 Saw a toddler today running about outside on his own just yards away from a busy main road. I started to look around and thinking perhaps I should grab him before he got to the busy road when a young woman got up from a cafe table, glared at me and then retrieved the infant very grudgingly. Makes me sad (and mad) that my DD is having so much heartache trying to start a family yet these mothers couldn't care less about the safety of their children!

Nan2, as you say carparks are very dangerous places for children. Some mothers need lessons in basic childcare, don't they??

You bother because you care Nan2. Carry on doing what you're doing. Same with you Shem. The younger ones could learn a lot from you.

The thing is with parents like that they tend to shout at the children for running away when its their fault in the first place, why do some mums think their phone calls are more important than life its self .

I cringe when I see parents pushing buggies and prams out between parked cars to cross the road. It is almost "I shall push the baby out and if it doesn't get squashed it is safe to cross".

I avoid Asda because of the parking anyway. Ours has just had a revamp but you still need eyes on stalks. I would have no trouble in advising the parent regardless of the abuse. Someone told me of a child going from table to table in a local hostelry (by Asda) sucking at the tomato sauce bottles and the grandparent in charge thinking it very funny! How is that funny? Why do people think anything goes these days? It really doesn't.

Oh, not funny at all Grauntie. What were they thinking of? Going back to parking. I reported a top of the range car with it's top back, showing it's cream leather seats parked in the disabled space next to the door in the car park of the shopping centre. It's one of my bugbears when any car uses the disabled spaces without a blue badge.

The two security guards said there was nothing to be done. Everyone does it. I could report it to the Council but they don't do anything either. Grrrrr!😠

Just goes to show Nana, any complaint seems to fall on deaf ears.
