why oh why will people post awful pictures of animal cruelty on FB so that they go to all their friends news feed! Just recently I have had some awful images and have just received another. I know that people are concerned and want it all to stop but they should really consider how upsetting it is for so many of us. I have just unfollowed another friends for this reason, I really don't want to upset her as I know she is a real animal lover, but so am I and now I know I just won't be able to get this image out of my head. And there is nothing I can do to help, that is the frustrating thing. I feel so upset at the moment, but these things are happening in the Far East so I really don't see that signing a petition will do any good. They just see animals in a completely different way to us in the UK. Sorry, I'm rambling a bit but it really got to me .

edited...I know we need to know, I know it needs to stop, but how can we make a difference.

Enfys, it bothers me, too. I would love to be the sort of person who flies off to work on the ground, rescuing animals, educating the next generation to have a different attitude to animals. But sadly I'm not. I would even be useless helping at a UK rescue shelter. I'd want to bring them all home.

Oh Daisy I know the feeling so well re rescue centres, when we where doing rescue relief and rehoming I could go to work in the morning and leave my two dogs at home with a couple of rescue dogs that where being assessed by us for a month prior to rehoming, and when I came home at 6pm there was every chance of another 2/3 little dogs that OH could not turn away when the Charity rang for a temporary home he would still do it now if we had the space, all we can do is hope (against hope) that these Asian Countries are educated against this cruel manner in which they treat animals but I do think we are not going to see much changed in the near future to be honest.

I have had to block images like this on Facebook . I know we need to be aware that the world can be a very nasty place but there is only so much we can do. As for signing a petition , well that doesn't seem to achieve much and when it comes to influencing other countries its completely useless. 'They' are not going to take a notice of us. Take big game hunting , the dreadful culling of elephants and rhinos for their ivory tusks , there has been many petitions about that and it still goes on. Perhaps boycotting these countries as our holiday destinations might help in a small way ?
