Does anyone else feel the same way as me I wonder ?

I was looking at Facebook this afternoon and I noticed my SIL had shared a post that contained a video. As you may be aware its not necessary to click on a video now for it to paly, its automatic, it plays short highlights.
    We'll I didn't like what I saw. It was a man beating a child with a belt.
I think the reason for sharing the video is to get the man who did this to the child arrested. Now I fully understand that but..... I would have thought that if the video is 'out there' he has been arrested. ( We hope )

I have no desire to see such acts like this and sharing this image on Facebook doesn't end the cruelty some children /people and even animals have experienced. I also worry that scenes like this will eventually land on the Facebook pages of sick horrible people who get pleasure in something like this so why make their life easier for them.
I never share any thing that is disturbing or upsetting , If I don't want to see it, I'm fairly sure my friends don't

That's awful Mimi, and such a shock to see it. I unfriended someone on FB because she kept attaching pictures of terrible animal cruelty and it upset me so much. I do hope the man in video gets dealt with promptly but really do not think,it necessary to share things like this on social media. Surely that is what the police are for,

I agree. Mimi - I'm sure your SIL's motives were to get justice for that poor child, but I'm not sure if sharing a vile video like that is the best way of doing it.

One FB group I belong to have a practice of making a post and if an image going with it might be upsetting or distasteful for anyone they put the image in the comments as a separate post (and in case you're wondering, it's usually dog poo!)

        I agree with you all.
We , and all right thinking people think animal and child cruelty are appalling and will do anything we can to prevent it.
Showing these graphic photos and videos does not do that however it just upsets the majority of us, and I'm afraid that there certain sick individuals who would get pleasure from seeing such things. I have hidden and asked not to see lots of that sort of content, and if friends continue posting it I just unfollow (not unfriend) them which means there stuff isn't coming into my newsfeed.

I agree these images should be with the police , and then and only if they need help finding the individual should it be seen on social media , I don't look at any animal cruelty or violent posts if I can help it , sometimes they pop up automatic and I always click hide or unfollow. same with all these say Amen etc its all a money making scam from people using someone photos without their consent

Those sort of sick posts are usually American, sometimes staged and often very old. I don't share many posts unless they are amusing

I agree Glam on a friends post there was a pic of a young woman on a garden bench a Down's syndrome girl, and an old. and an old man with his hand up her skirt he looked like a tramp I found it very upsetting and actually complained to FB and the chap who had sent it but didn't get much sense , I ended up unfriending my friend , couldn't understand her keeping it on it was so unlike her to have such a thing on her page
