Why do people do this , we were talking about this today , I'm no Angel and can swear with the best but not in public ,but now it seams no one cares and it's not just the young ones I have heard grandparents swearing very loudly when out , no one has manners now either at one time if you bumped into someone you always said sorry if it was your fault or not , now they either just carry on or tut at you , am I getting a old grump or has something changed the way we act now , I find older people have no patience or manners , these are the people who should know better they were taught them , and don't get me started on litter throwing 😠

Oma, me and hubby were only talking about this a couple of days ago.Hubby goes to the car oot sale every Sunday.
When he came home this week,he was telling me about someone swearing. It's awful considering there are little kids about.
Unfortunately,it's everyday language to some folk.
As for litter, don't get me started.
Another sore point for us is dog fowling.Have to be honest and say i'm not really a dog lover.
We have dog owners on here, and i know they will all clean up after their pets.Sadly not all owners do, we are always having to clean up the pavement outside our house.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

There is no need for swearing in public, and I agree it seems to have become more acceptable nowadays.
On a slightly different note I was telling DD2 when we were out on Sunday that I saw countless children smacked at Disneyworld! Why bring a child there as a treat and hit it???
Also an English father at Manchester airport when we arrived home screaming at his little boy to 'walk with mum or he would lose it'. He clearly had already lost it, as several people around me commented!!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

In Morrisons last week a women in her late 50,s was obviously having a row on her phone very loudly then she yelled at the top of her voice " well it must have been my f*****g fault was it well f**k you you c***" and charged off up the shop. To say everyone was shocked was a understatement, that's how we got to talking about it today I still can't believe anyone let alone a woman in her 50,s would do that in public angry or not , bad enough using the F word but the C word there is just no need , Mind you she did get her shopping quickly she was so mad she threw stuff in her trollie . She was a well dressed well spoken woman although a potty mouth , A old lady behind us said I would be ashamed if she was my Daughter and everyone agreed , two young boys about 20 started to laugh and one said if I did that my Mam would have strung me up even at my age. I was embarrassed for her to be honest
The strangest things happen in supermarkets we always find 😊Im not fat just 6ft too small

Gem I hate to see people smacking children if they can do it in public what do they do in their own homes ,I'm not against a smack on the bottom but some go to far .
Nanto I often remark about dog walkers not picking up after their dogs , our neighbour was fined £70 last year the dog warden was about and saw him walk away he always takes a bag now think it was a expensive lessonIm not fat just 6ft too small

I don't hear swearing in public unless I go into our large local town, it is mainly the youngsters, they are not able to express themselves unless every other word is a swearword. Leaving dogmess and litter really makes me angry. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

My Fathers language was legendary , I hated it , but in my twenties I was in Spain on holiday and a persistent would be suitor (well think oily octopus) was getting on my wick and I suddenly let forth a string of Dads pet invective ......... well he and half the street took off !! I do try to be more polite nowadays

Its an everyday occurrence now Oma,even young girls eff and jeff in the street.Makes my flesh crawl. If anyone swears withing the GD's hearing I'm afraid I give them short shrift. As for dog walkers not picking up their dogs poo, again I have been known to call after them saying excuse me I think you left something behind, got me loads of filthy looks over the years. Yes I can swear at home when something has really got my goat, but not outside. My Mothers pet hate was seeing women smoke in the street, although she smoked herself, never outside."What doesn't kill us,makes us stronger."

I was very shocked when GD2 came home with a letter recently asking parents and grandparents not to swear on the school premises when they are collecting their children. I don't think it can get much worse than that! What kind of people are we becoming!
I feel sorry for teachers trying to instill good manners, consideration and kindness into children when the parents are so foul-mouthed.
LG - if I see someone not picking up after their dog I offer them a bag, with a smile and say "I bet you won't runout of bags again, it's so embarrassing, isn't it!" Nobody has told me what I can do with my bag.
I think the litter problem is getting worse. In the towns there are litter bins and the streets are swept, but I think everybody saves their rubbish up and dumps it at the roadside out in the country. I am lucky enough to live in one of the most amazing parts of the country and it makes me sad and mad that people treat it with such disrespect - to say nothing of the danger to wildlife of plastic bags etc blowing around.

There are bins in Windsor on the High Street but just opposite is a Macdonalds, the people buy their take away sit on the benches to eat and then put all their waste in the bins so they are constantly overflowing, not a good sight for a tourist attraction. I think Macdonalds should be responsible for the bins to be emptied. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant - I agree. I think fast food outlets should all provide bins, encourage customers to use them and then should empty them regularly so they don't overflow or attract vermin."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
