    Hillsborough documentary.

Did any of you see this documentary/film the other night? It was banned in the UK until new inquests were over. It was heartbreaking & horrific. It was so powerful & made me sick to my stomach that all the lies, underhandedness, cover up, by the so called 'Officials' happened as it did. At least the families of those killed will hopefully get the Justice they've been fighting for all these years now. So many lives were needlessly lost that day. It showed all types of people who were affected that day...fans, family, friends, police etc. So many were left mentally scarred. OH & I were speechless. Thank goodness the sergeant in Sheffield told his own force to write everything in their black books. That evidence made a new case....written police reports from their black books were scribbled over (not by the actual PC) but altered by the 'powers that be', then typed out to submit as the original report. I wasn't aware that 41 lives could have been saved had the emergency service response been adequate either. Prof Phil Scraton was /is an amazing human being.

I have nothing to do with any of it but it made me feel ashamed that Sth Yorkshire forces, Coroner etc, acted in the way they did on the day & the days/years that followed. I know it might come late but I'm sincerely sorry this happened in my county. I send my love to everyone so deeply affected by this.

I didn't see it Nana, but it's good that the truth came out. We went past the football ground a few months ago, I couldn't help but recall the scenes I had seen on tv, when it first happened.

    indeed.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I didn't see it either Nana, but will try to catch it.
A terrible, terrible thing.I think it lingers in all our minds, especially some of the distressing and insensitive photos at the time.

I could never understand why 'they' thought it was hooliganism that started the tragedy. We were watching it on TV and it was clear that people weren't fighting. My heart goes out to all those who were affected.

I did watch it, sat with tears in my eyes, nearly all the way through, what heartache has been left behind, so pleased the families got justice, that poor mother who identified her son from a photo, then told her sons body belonged to the coroner and was wheeled away, that just broke my heart for her, good for the families fighting all this time, so many cover ups, and so many people affected by it, how did those covering it up sleep at night...

I know Pearl, I said to my OH that they'd have to peel me off...Coroner or no Coroner. It does make you wonder what on earth possessed them to take blood samples from children to check alcohol levels? I'm so pleased it all ended with the truth winning.
