Daisy I don't leave myself logged in, but I have encountered this before here. iPad posts are short and sweet if you need to say something quickly but if you are writing a lengthy post then this comes up. If this happens on other members' iPads, best to use laptop or desktop for more than a two liner !

Glamm, I agree with everthing that has been said...let us know what happens.

I always use my ipad and haven't, as yet, had any problems. Hope I haven't jinxed it now

It seems that in this at least, the cheaper Samsung tablet is better, as this rarely happens to me and I post here often on mine.

The latest instruction is to ring her first thing Tuesday morning with the end of week (last week) figures so she will be "up to speed & rocking" (her words) when her managers ring her to see how we have done last week, please remember our computerised tills give a daily reading and full end of week reading direct to our HO these where installed to save us time and to give us more time with our valued customers so surely her works computer can log on to our figures or am I missing something here, somehow I don't think this lady is going to rub me up well and I may decide that full time work is not so enjoyable after all.xx

Glamm - I'd be oh so tempted to emails your accounts department where the till totals are sent and ask them to forward the figures to your AM! Silly woman.

Good thinking Daisy I think I will do that first thing in the morning,to be honest I would give her all the help she wants as she is new to the Company but I just can't justify her position at all as we have worked without an area manager for years and everything has run true to form with no hiccups at all,her attitude is very condesending imo the first time I met her she commented that DD and I could be sisters and I should enter a glamourous granny contest (how patronising) its certainly not the comments I would say to staff I was just meeting I really shouldn't read to much into this as I am finding fault with everything she does I'm sure she was being complimentry in some way just not my idea of being business like and making a good first impression, maybe I am just old school. xxx

Glamm - I don't think there is anything 'old school' about being professional in the workplace, and I for one, certainly don't think remarks like that are appropriate at first meeting. If she'd been there a while and you and she had a rapport then, maybe. But certainly not at this early stage. It does make you wonder why a charity is taking on extra staff for a newly invented job.

Sounds as if she is trying too hard and she really shouldn't be making personal comments when she doesn't know you! I wonder if someone has "created" a job for her?

Same thoughts here Shemadee,I have the pleasure of her company all day next Tuesday for her to show me "bullet selling" points in my shop area and to re-arrange my displays so they will draw in more customers she has already upset DD who runs our larger sister shop by telling her she should be marketing items on a more professional basis, for goodness sake we run a local Community Charity and we do strive to make our customers and staff comfortable in their surroundings if we start charging more £s for our items we will have no customers they will vote with their feet and go elsewhere imo.I am now going to worry about my shop when I am away at the wedding for 2 weeks in June and DD is frightened she will alienate her volunteer staff,we are experiencing greetings from her of "high fives" when she suggests a new way of doing something I do not think this is going to bode well in the long run.

Glamm - it sounds as though she needs to go on a management course!!!! One where they tell her that you have to work with your colleagues, not try to ram them into a different mould, and the staff in the shops have local knowledge, know their customers and can tell her a thing or two about what works and what doesn't. Of course, she may come up with something different that does 'fit' with your ethos and does work, but alienating volunteers isn't good. But whatever happens, Glamm, don't be worrying about it when you are in LV.

Glam, that's great. What a lovely team you have. I hope Little Miss Bull in a China Shop doesn't upset them, that's if she's still Area Manager. 😬
