    So annoying.

Just taken delivery of 8 chocolate santas from Thorntons. They weren't personalised like I ordered, suppose I can live with that.Unfortunately 4 of them are broken into little pieces. I did expect them to be packed better than they were, santas in bottom of box, just covered with brown paper.
Waiting to hear back from them.

Gosh Thorntons need to get their act together!!
You would imagine chocolate figures sent though the post would be very well packed and protected. You could buy bits of broken chocolate much cheaper if that was what you had wanted nan2! !!

I ordered a few items from Debenhams, when they arrived the child's tshirt I order was creased. It looked as if it had been put through a hot wash. The chocolate golf balls were in pieces, which was surprising as the package was in perfect condition, not a dent or scratch on it.
When I took the tshirt and chocolate back to Debenhams the man on the 'returns' desk was very apologetic . He called the manager over to have at the items ., he was not impressed. He took a note of the invoice number, gave me my money back plus a £5 voucher and then went to ring the appropriate department that deals with online orders/dispatches .

Mimi - at least you got good service eventually, but it's the hassle of having to take things back, especially at this time of year when everywhere is so busy. If you live in the middle of now where like us, it's also time!

Nanto - I hope the replacements arrive in time.

Oma - it could only happen to you, hun. xx

Mimi I have been very disappointed with Debenhams recently. I have a store card but I don't use it a lot, I have a direct debit to pay it off at the end of the month as it is usually just for gifts etc. I have spent about £300 for Christmas on the card and thought I would buy myself some new boots. My current proper boots (as opposed to trouser boots) are ten years old and have started to leak. I went in there and I thought the service was dreadful, they were busy talking to each other, left me for almost ten minutes while they found my size and then came back and said they only had four and half or six (I am a five). I said to them that I wouldn't pay £170 for boots which were either going to pinch or be too big and they looked at me as if I was from outer space! Walked out in disgust. I think debenhams these days is a collection of franchises so they don't really have a rounded customer focus. If there were more John Lewis stores around my way I would gladly swap to them.

I used to love Debenhams and shopped there a lot. Then I got very cross when they changed the Gold (store) card to a credit card without saying anything and when I said I didn't want another credit card and wouldn't be using it they tried to tell me it was exactly the same. I think you're right, Zizi, nowadays it's just a collection of franchise outlets. We're lucky enough to have a John Lewis in southampton, which is as close as Debenhams.
