    Better Leisure

Not long before the pandemic a big new leisure centre opened, near an existing shopping park a few miles from town.
It incorporates a multi screen Cineworld cinema (where GS1 and I often go), stadium for sports matches (I know little about that bit) and leisure centre with pools (where I go for my aqua sessions) climbing walls, gyms, studios etc.
There is also a cafe, small branch of York library and upstairs an NHS centre. This is where we go for blood taking, and my auntie now has her regular eye injections there. Much easier and more pleasant than going to the hospital, not to mention free easy parking.

I have always found all the staff there so pleasant, it really is a pleasure to visit and I feel so grateful that we finally have this place. It was many years in its creation.

On Friday I had booked to take 2 of my grandchildren to the pool. On the day GD aged 12 was unable to go into the water so stayed in the cafe with money for a treat and free wi fi on her phone.
GS and I checked in for our swim. I gave my name and said it was myself and 2 children but in fact I had only one with me. She immediately offered me a refund for the other child. I hadn't asked for this nor explained why the other child wasn't there. I thought this was very kind. I know I can cancel my aqua sessions up to 4 hours before and get a refund, and regularly did this when I was ill recently. As this was the time of the session I hadn't expected a refund on the swimming. It was only £3.40, but it made me feel happy that they had refunded it.

Good service all round from Better Leisure in my experience

Gem - isn't that great! It's how such places should operate and obviously the staff are well-trained and happy doing their jobs. It's so refreshing to hear.
