    Shoddy goods

This morning when we were in Asda I bought two new hand towels for downstairs loo ,
I bought some black ones a few weeks ago from Dunelm and although lovely and thick after being washed a lot they are fading .
I do have some grey striped ones so thought I would just but another couple of grey to go with them .

Came home and put them straight in wash then tumble dryer .
Shocked not only at the amount of pile that came off them but one side had unraveled and frayed all the way down .

Obviously not been sewed correctly and finished off .
I took them straight back , the girl on the desk said I wasn’t the first to take these particular ones back,
so why are they still selling them if there is a issue with them ?

I wouldn’t care but B did say wait till we go to Next tomorrow have a look in there , should have listened to him 🙄

Oma, i have had quite a few towels from Asda over the years.
They have always washed and worn well. Maybe it a bad batch they have got in at the moment.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I think I had a couple of hand towels from Asda a few years ago, Nan2 and those have been fine.

Well done taking these ones back Oma. They should definitely not be selling them if your's wasn't the first complaint.

I have bought towels from them too and never had a problem ,
These were obviously shoddy workmanship ,
I think if I wasn’t the first to take these particular ones back then they should be checking them and taking them off the shelf .

quality checks in the factory is to blame , the edges had completely missed the sewing machine by looks of it .

Oma, I had the same problem with a Dunelm towel. I bought 3 and one fell apart within a couple of uses, but the oth3 s are still fine. Annoying isn’t it.

I bought towels from M&S recently. Awful! The fluff kept on coming off. They didn’t seem to dry my skin properly either. Not cheap! The previous towels were from Dunelm. They were fine and lasted a long time.
While we’re on about shoddy goods, I bought a small rubber backed mat to go in front of the kitchen sink last week. That was a disaster, it shed bits like billyo, and when I picked it up to shake it I noticed it had cracks along the rubber. It has been returned quick smart.

GM i think its pot luck with some stuff isn’t it ,
I hate when towels don’t dry and they leave bits of fluff on you 🙄

Oma - yes. The first reason for using a towel is to dry yourself. If it can't manage that it's a poor show!
