    Great service from NHS

I was sent my kit for bowel cancer screening last week. (No details) I posted the test last Monday so they would have received it Tuesday as it was first class tracked and I got my results back on Friday of the same week. (All clear) I was very impressed with the speed of result and service, given we are in the middle of a pandemic. Anyone received good treatment during the current crisis?

    That was good service FQ.
I rang the surgery to order my prescription this morning.
She told i'm due for a medication review. One of their pharmacists will ring Friday morning,to do it over the phone.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

FairyQueen - it's good to hear of such good service. I do think the NHS have been brilliant in lots of ways during Covid, but I think it's taking time to get routine treatments back to normal, so perhaps this is a sign of good things to come. Also really good to get the All Clear.

I was due for an annual blood test in May. I got the letter about it in August, just after my DS1 was taken ill. Normally they are done at our local hospital, but I really didn't want to risk going there, so the nurse kindly did it at the surgery. I haven't heard anything since, so I presume it was ok!

We've always had prompt service from the bowel screening unit.

Good news that it's all clear FQ!

Thanks all. First time I’ve done the test so I was impressed. Daisy I always ring up for results of blood tests and ask for a copy. They send a copy via Ask my GP. I have a thyroid condition that fluctuates so I go every 3 months for blood☹️ Let’s hope you get your review soon Nan. x

FQ - you're very sensible to get your test results promptly. Out surgery always say they will tell you if there's a problem, but you can ring and ask if you wish. I think I ought to do that, but usually I see the nurse anyway so I can ask while I'm there. Everything's gone to pot this year!

Yes Daisy I agree everything has gone to pot. Looking forward to next year when (hopefully) things are more normal. Never thought I’d say I’m looking forward to my Dentist resuming normal service! I had a horrendous abscess a few months ago and all they could do was give me antibiotics as they couldn’t use the drill - took ages to settle and now Husband has broken his tooth and been told they can only stick temporary repair on it! He’s got an appointment in 3 weeks!😳
