    Morrisons Urrrh !!!

I was lucky enough to secure a home delivery from Morrisons last Wednesday to be delivered yesterday the 3rd it was later than I wanted the slot but it was the first one available it was between 8-9pm but I could live with that no problem.
9pm came and went with no phone call etc to explain why they where late so at 10.30pm I took myself off to bed to be disturbed at 11.10pm by knocking on the front door yes you guessed it my delivery had arrived and the driver told me that the Company should have emailed me or phoned to say they where short on vans to do the deliveries,I accepted his reasons and took the delivery from him.
Whilst un-packing and putting items in the fridge I noticed that the cold meats I had ordered for sandwiches during the week where all dated "use by 4th Oct" which is today how I am going to use 3 x packs of cold meats today ? I know I could freeze them but that is not the point on their site it stated 5+ days for the dates.
I then received an email after the guy had left to tell me they where having problems what is the good of telling me after the fact .The delivery charge was a wee bit over the top at £4.50 then 50p for bags.
I don't think I shall use them again and stick to Sainsburys .

That isn't good Glamm, you can send them a mail and complain, I don't know if that will help but it could help you!

I hope you are going to complain and demand they refund the delivery charge at least. Did he catch you with your curlers in Glamm?

          Glamm that's unacceptable .
You can demand a refund on the cooked meat , if they state 5 days use ,

One thing about Asda is they have a good refund policy , they dont always have everything i want mind you and i have to untick the replacement box as ive had a few funny replacements like a pk 8 pork chops in place of a pork joint

Also as it was so late and you were not informed your delivery cost should be refunded
If you dont complain it wont improve their service , they will think people are fine with it .

Glamma, thats just not on. Certainly ask for some kind of recompense for the delivery and cooked meats.

Over the years i have had deliveries from the top 4 supermarkets and never had a problem.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Glamma, delivering to you at that late time of night when it wasn't the time you booked, and with no phone call of explanation is terrible.
The short dated items were just adding insult to injury!

We have only ever had deliveries from Tesco or Sainsbury's so I don't know if this is unusual for Morrison's.

Glamm - I think delivering that late is totally unacceptable. Apart from anything else you might not have opened the door at that hour! I certainly would have thought twice.

Short dates are the bane of my life! Sainsbury's always seem to send any meat and fish with short dates and last week we had fish three days running so they didn't go out of date! I think service in all the supermarkets varies from branch to branch!

                I'd definitely complain.

Oma - I can (almost) understand getting 8 pork chops instead of a joint of pork, but you would have thought they might have a joint of a different cut! My most bizarre one was kippers instead of hake! The kippers were actually very nice, but surely they had some other more similar kind of white fish! I think they were just next to each other on the shelf. Three weeks ago I ordered 6 carrots. They were so tiny you could hardly see them. Then the following week I ordered 8 - and they were like tree trunks!

This morning I received an email from CS and they have refunded the cost of the roast beef and given a £10.00 refund on my order for the inconvienience,I am still very cross with them and the fact I was not notified I shall take it up with my local CS desk next time I go into the store.

Glamm - I'm glad they listened to you. Was the delivery from your local store?

I much prefer to do my own shopping which I am atm. I have in the past had deliveries from Waitrose and they have been very good at replacements.

We are doing a mixture of both at the moment, Plant. A delivery about once a month and top ups ourselves in between.

That's dreadful service Glamm. I'd make sure you put your complaints in writing so they can't say you didn't tell them.

I'm very pleased with my Waitrose deliveries. Substitutions are always something very similar or even better!

I was cross with Sainsbury's at the beginning of lockdown when I asked for a priority slot because of OH's shielding. I said I hadn't used the delivery service for a while, because I did it in person each week. I was told to consider myself lucky that I was able to do that, because lots of people couldn't. Sorry, but I couldn't get a slot! That's them off my weekly shop.

I even got a slot for Christmas week with Waitrose. At the moment there are 6 bottles of prosecco in the basket, but no doubt more will get added as the weeks go by!
