Enfys we had emails saying a deposit had been put in our HSBC account and to ring a number if we had a query so the fraud dept could investigate , we don't have HSBC .

Then another phone call about our internet provider ,
Another about insurance for something we don't have.

Oh and the Parcel delivery one ,
I think it must be silly season again

Have just done some investigating online and it appears they are to do with Bitcoin, something I know nothing about.

Just a warning, do not respond, just delete ASAP. I don’t know what they are after, probably bank details or similar. Something else to be aware of.
Thanks for the warning, Enfys. I've read books about bitcoins and digital currencies etc - and am still no wiser!!

Oma - it certainly is the silly season. I wonder if all these low life scammers think we're too busy to read things properly and will just open links, press1 or whatever without thinking about it!

This recording was on Money Box Live - the conversation between a reporter and some low life who was threatening him in the name of HMRC.

BBC Money Box reporter Dan Whitworth was phoned by a fraudster and managed to record the call.

I really don't know what's come over the phone and broadband providers! I've had two calls today - one from BT and an identical one from Sky - offering me a generous discount on my bills because I'm such a good girl and pay promptly!

I'm still waiting to hear how much they're going to give me for paying my different provider's bills.

I have had six calls in two days from the one saying I had missed a call from Sky and they are going to cut me off. I don’t answer them now. I have TP with BT, I will contact them next week if I have another one. Fortunately my phone reads out either the person or number of the caller.

                  You're right, Gem.

Plant we have TP too, but is doesn't seem to make much difference.
