    Phone and internet woes!

We have Sky for TV, phone and internet.
A few days ago we were told that a friend had been unable to phone our landline. We can phone out fine. We checked by ringing our number from a mobile and all you hear when you phone our landline is a loud buzzing. Added to that the wi has been dodgy for a few weeks now and is getting worse constantly cutting out, everything is taking far longer than it should.
We rang Sky, and according to them the problem is inside our property (we had assumed it was outside)
The first day they can come that we are home is a week today.
So we have to put up with the dodgy internet and no one can phone us.
Most people phone or text our mobiles to be honest, but my mum phones the landline, so that is a pain.
I hope it can be sorted out next Friday.
    Moan over!

Oh what a pain Gem. We get so reliant on technology that it is a real nuisance when things aren’t working correctly. Good luck with it being fixed next week. Smoke signals only until then.

Sunshine is spot on , we rely so much on all this technology when it goes wrong we are lost , Then you have to wait in for people to come sort it out
Our problem is anytime we get a storm the TV starts to pixilate and we loss the channel , I hate this damn satellite

Mmmm not sure about the problem being in the house ? Our internet went wrong after we moved house , 50 yards around the corner , three engineers "fixed" it but it took the fourth , and 4 weeks off line before the 4th engineer traced the problem to the green box in the street !

Gem - Aggie's experience sounds familiar. There are also possible charges if they have to come into your house. Have you asked for a BT check at the cabinet/green box and the connection to the outside of your house?

Oma - our satellite goes down when we have stormy weather as well.

Aggie and Daisy. I won't be surprised if it doesn't turn out to be in the house where the problem lies.

OH was told that if we joined Sky something or other (free of charge) they wont charge us for the visit.

Its annoying when the iternet goes down, but i think its only happened once to us since we've been with Virgin.
Last year hubby rand Virgin to tell them we were changing supplier, as they were getting too expensive.
Price went up to £40+ a month. Hubby told them you have good deals for new customers, but no deals for loyal customers.
Virgin rang us back and said you've been with us so long and they didn't want to lose us. Monthly payment was redced to £20.
We have been with Virgin 16 years now.
We never use the landline, but its there for ma and pa to get in touch. Sister in law had her landline taken out and ma and pa will not ring to a mobile. So,who do they always ring. That will be us then.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Oma every afternoon you can gaurentee that our picture will pixelate at about 3-30pmish we have to reajust our BT box just slightly for it to come back on,they said it was a loose wire inside the box and sent us a new box,it still happens though I am convinced it has to do with the box and wiring outside out bungalow.
