    They get a lot of bad press from time to time, but praise where praise is due!

    My granddaughter is getting guinea pigs from her parents for her birthday. As an extra present I decided to order a little book on their care. As time is at a premuim this week I knew I wouldn't have time to shop for one, so ordered from Amazon. Today I learned that DD has already bought her the exact same one, an Usborne book. It would be fine to have 2 books on guinea pigs, but not two copies of the same book!
    I ordered it yesterday, delivery due on Friday, which is fine as her party is on Sunday, when I want to give her her presents.
    I went onto my Amazon account to cancel and they said it hadn't been dispatched but was in preparation, and would see if it could be cancelled, and would let me know by email.
    In a very short time I received and email saying my order was cancelled and I wasn't charged.
    So, thank you Amazon!

    Gem - we're all ready to criticise companies who give poor service, so it's good to hear the opposite! Especially for a giant like Amazon who are getting quite a lot of adverse media publicity because of the tax situation.

    Did you find an alternative present for GD?

      I love guinea pigs too Daisy
      My ex OH and I are buying her some Doc Martens together as main present. I have also got her an owl necklace, and wanted something else hence the book.
      I'm not sure what to get her instead!

            Does she know about the GPs, Gem? If so has she chosen names for them?

              She does know, and we have spent a lot of time deciding on names, but I don't know what the final ones are. I will let you know!

                    Well done Amazon. I have read a lot not very nice comments recently.
                    Over the years i have bought a lot of things from there,and never had a problem.
                    Sometimes I forget to like posts,but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

                      We had the glasses debacle recently. I was asked to review my purchase which I did as politely as I could but I had to mention the non packaging as they were broken in transit. The worst I put was it must be a waste of time and money for all concerned. The review was rejected and I was referred to their guide lines! I guess they just won’t print negative comments true or not.

                        Grauntie - I'm sure you worded your review carefully, but I think lots of companies reject poor reviews.
