There are good honest people about.

I feel there are more good and honest people in the world than the other sort, but we hear a lot about the dishonest ones.

This morning I went to the library, then to The Range for a good browse and bought a few things, then went to the large Sainsbury's for a couple of things.
I drove home and unpacked the shopping. 2 bags , but no handbag!!
I had taken a canvas bag with leather handles, and hooked the handles onto the trolley . I must have put the shopping bags into the car and returned the trolley with the bag still on the handles!!
I checked and double checked, all over the car and boot and it wasn't there. I put the shopping down in the hallway and got straight back into my car and back to the supermarket. It was a tense 10 minutes. In that bag were my phone and my purse, with all my cards in and the £100 cash I had just withdrawn.
I parked and hurried in to Customer Service. Thank goodness some wonderful honest person had handed it in. I was so relieved! As everything was in my bag I could obviously offer them no ID. They asked my name, which would be on several things in my purse, so that was enough. I came home happy and relieved.

Some of you may remember me leaving my purse in the toilets of a services on the way back from Cornwall a couple of years ago. Some kind person had handed it in.

A couple of weeks ago I very stupidly left my credit card at the Pay at Pump pump of Asda garage. I must have put it it down on the top to pick up the petrol cap which I had left there while I filled up, then failed to pick it up. I was in a hurry that day, which is why it happened I think.
I drove back, and thank goodness the next person had seen it and handed it in.

So, to all those good honest people, I say Thank You!!

Try to be careful, you might not be so lucky a 4th time.

Gosh you were lucky Gemini. I am inclined to do things like that. I do sometimes keep my purse in my pocket instead of my bag.

Remember when I left my handbag in the bar at Brum , it had everything in it
Its easy to leave your bag hanging on the trolley ive almost done it a couple of times , your so busy getting the shopping into the boot it goes out of your head ,
My DD if she has her card in her hand at the pumps or anywhere like that pops it into her Bra

I think you might have stretched your run of luck Gem so beware

Gem - you were lucky, 3 times!

Oma - your DD's idea is good!

I'm a scatter brain about things I'm carrying. Even at school I was always in trouble with my mum for losing my purse with my dinner money in. If I'm doing the supermarket shop on my own I put my credit card and Nectar card in the back pocket of my jeans and leave my bag in the car. I always put my phone in my left pocket and car keys in the right, so I'm 'hands-free', but if I get this wrong and put something in a different place or the pockets are too small I'm completely lost. I then panic because I don't know where the item is!

When we were away last week and had no phone reception, I took my mobile into the toilet block to try over there - and left it on the top of the loo roll holder. I realised when I got back to the van and went straight back. That shower cubicle was occupied, and the voice from within said 'is it your phone?" She was laughing as she handed it over, I was just glad it was still there!

Daisy that’s how I lost fmy glasses in London left them on the loo roll , they were no good to anyone apart from a designer make , did the same with a voucher I bought left it on the loo roll I will never learn 😙
If I left my cards in my pocket they would probably go through a wash cycle , I would forget they were there, I’ve left phones etc in coat pockets and the times they have slid out and down the seat at the side whilst driving , the children little ones I mean say now if I lose anything “are they in the car grandma “

Qwerty - I'm always losing my phone down the sides of the seat in the car. I try to remember to take it out before I get in, but there isn't anywhere sensible to put it in my current car and because I can't easily see it, I forget about it when I get out!! I do wish manufacturers of ladies' clothes thought about such things when they are designing them.
