I am going to see Evita at our local theatre with my guiding friends and that is costing £37. Haven't been to a live show for ages.

Thanks Daisy. I think they will have learned a lot from this, and if they ever repeat it, things will be different I'm sure.
My friend told me the seats are quite hard with no cushion hire, so my friends and I will take a cushion. Plus of course jackets etc as it may become cool as the evening progresses.
I am feeling a lot better about it all.
I decided that I didn't want to wait until next Saturday night to get my replacement tickets, so we went along today. In the end they refunded my original tickets (or Ticketmaster will, in a few days) and I bought the new ones which they had waiting for me. Despite being a couple of rows further back the view looking at the plan doesn't seem much different to our original one, so we shall see.
A bonus is because I am returning the tickets to Ticketmaster, but buying the new ones from the box office itself, we don't pay the £5 charge for each ticket (scandalous!!) So I will be able to give each of the 3 friends £5 back
I enjoyed being in the public part of the theatre and am looking forward to next Saturday.
DD2 and SIL are going to see Romeo and Juliet there tonight, I hope they enjoy it 💘“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem - M's brother and sister-in-law have also booked to see Macbeth. I think they got a small discount on the tickets for buying for two different plays.
I think these sneaky charges like booking fees and admin fees are scandalous - just another way of putting up the ticket prices.
Plant - I love the atmosphere at live shows. Clover - I would like to see Evita sometime!
