    Bus Pass renewals.

    I think our local council has lost the plot. OH and I had recently realised our bus passes were out of date and we plan to use them to go to Stanstead airport when we go to France later on in the year. I rang the council because it wasn’t clear how to renew them on the website and was told they should have been updated automatically. Delving deeper it transpired that we had not remembered to change our address when we moved, and they had been updated but the new owners of our old house had sent them back. (Yes they did know where we lived, all they had to do was ring.)🙄 Apparently we were then removed from the system as we no longer existed. Reapply, said the nice lady. So we did. New photos, forms filled in, proof of our existence and address, all in the same envelope. Today OH had a letter to say as they now knew he had moved he has to pay £5 before they will update his bus pass! What about Grauntie’s pass I hear you say. I opened an envelope to find my pass updated, new photo not used and no charge to pay!!!

                  😂😂😂😂😂😂! You are all potty.

                  I have spoken to a man in ‘the department of bus passes’ this morning. The saga gets worse! It appears that I have not been charged because my pass was not renewed at the other address because it was annulled! Why? Because their system does a sweep occasionally and ‘annulls’ random people. 😳 I’m not sure which is worse, being annulled or being random. 😬
                  I have paid OH’s fiver, had a moan about paying for photos they didn’t use, (they still kept my details) and so we wait. I have registered a complaint but of course nothing will happen.

                          Grauntie - I can't imagine what you've done to deserve being annulled, apart from being a random person - but I hope it was fun!!!!!!
