    Oh Botheration!!

The fan in my oven has been protesting for a week or two but tonight it went on strike completely thus no oven! Luckily it is a double oven so I still had a small working top oven to cook tea tonight. Now tomorrow I must get on the hunt for a reputable repair person.

Clover - what a nuisance. Of course if the top oven isn't suitable you'll have to eat out or get takeaways! Every cloud .... Seriously, I hope you can get it fixed easily and quickly.

How annoying Clover. Hope it's fixed soon. Is it still under guarantee?

I have double oven, but only the bigger oven has a fan. I don't use the big oven very often.
The smaller oven is usually enough for what i want to do.
                Hope its fixed soon.

DD and Sil's cooker is packing up, various things wrong with it, they are waiting for an estimate but think they will have to replace it, just before Christmas too. It is a range cooker and will cost £4,000 for another and it only comes with an induction top which means they will need new saucepans etc. At least they have my cooker if they need to over Christmas but mine is induction and they are not used to that.

Good luck getting your repaired Clover.

My fan oven packed up about 12 ths ago when we where in the apartment and as it was fitted flush between the units we never pulled it out for repair as we had very limited space,we have used the top fan oven ever since and really need to get it sorted one way or another. We are fortunate there is only the two of us and only use the oven a couple of times a week.

We had to get a new cooker and freezer and I was concerned as both were fitted but the delivery man took the old ones out and fitted the new ones in about 30mins! I had been putting off buying new ones as I thought the kitchen would have to be pulled apart. Initially we bought a built in oven when we should have gone for a built under so it had to be exchanged! Life can be very complicated at times.

Shem - it's good to know that fitted appliances can be replaced! We have a separate hob and eye-level grill and oven (only the 1 oven) and I dread the oven part going wrong as we couldn't get a replacement housing for it as the company no longer exists. But it's all gas, so hopefully there's not much to go wrong and the whole lot will carry on for years!

Clover - any news on yours yet?

Well......I thought I’d give it one last try before searching for repair and blow me down after a couple of days of noncooperation it blooming well worked Admittedly it was still a bit noisy and no doubt it will konk out again soon but for the time being let sleeping dogs lie

Hahaha - a temperamental oven! I hope it's got over its crisis and keeps working.
