That’s it how many items do you use once a year , I don’t mean Christmas stuff. I had a clear out in the kitchen the other week I have a 2 tier cake stand it’s lovely shaped like a star it’s red and was bought for our Ruby wedding, we get it out once a year in December also a glass domed cake stand that I asked for one birthday because I like them, but only use it once a year, where do you keep these things ? Oh by the way I found 50 assorted serviettes I know I will never match you Oma but I am trying, trouble is they are of 10 different designs some Christmas , some with chicks Easter, others with cups and saucers on them from when I once did an afternoon tea for friends so not enough Xmas ones will have to go out and buy more 😱 will only use them once a year lol

I have one of those glass domed cake stands Qwerty, which only gets used for the Christmas cake!
I also have a pretty Cath Kidson 3 tier cake stand, but that does get used from time to time, and has the advantage of coming apart and going back into the box it came in so really takes little room.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

I have a white porcelain cake stand which was a present and have used about three times in five years, bit like yours Gem it comes apart and fits back in the box. It is good for Christmas and birthdays when the kids come around and I make cup cakes. I have just put a beautiful frosted glass sectioned dish in to the charity shop pile. It was a wedding present and used to get used a lot when we had a hectic social life but I haven’t used it for ages, it has been sitting in the wardrobe doing nothing so someone else might as well have the pleasure of it.If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

We had a slate cake stand that I used for Christmas and new year but no other time , it went to the charity shop ,
I have several Christmas nibble dishes I dot around the house with nuts and sweets etc in them .
I also have a small domed glass cake stand DD bought me I use that all the time on my work top its our sweety dome for the children
We have a large cupboard in the dining room holds all sorts ,
A sausage making machine ( used once )
Dozens of silicon moulds to make sweets , ginger bread houses, Chocolate spoons , etc ( never used )
Pasta machine rarely used ,
Lots of different shaped and sized cake tins again bought on a whim ,
In fact lots of rubbish he who must be obeyed just had to have , I hate going into Lakeland I just know he will come out with something
I forgot we also have a Popcorn machine that we don't use as it's as noisy as a jet plane taking off ,honest it would damage your ear drums if you got too close 😲You do not have permission to view this gallery.

I've got a glass cake stand, which belonged to my grandmother (who I never knew) and I use it for birthday cakes, Christmas cakes and desserts like cheesecake, so I think it earns its space in the sideboard. I've also got a 2-tier Art Deco cake stand which is somewhere up in the loft. I don't know where this came from, but could also have been my grandmother's.
One thing I don't use very often but it doesn't take up much space is a condiment set - salt, pepper and mustard pot. They are the only one of their kind, and were part of my wedding present when I worked at Wedgwoods. I saw the s & p in the Design studio one day and asked the Head of Design if it was going into production, because I thought they were really nice. Sadly, they weren't - too many technical problems to make them viable, but when I got married a few months later they made the mustard pot and gave me the set. I keep them in the glass fronted kitchen cupboard on show.
I can't think of anything that I only use once a year - if that was all I ever used it, I'd never be able to find it on that one occasion! LOL

When we had the kitchen done we packed everything up. The kitchen, as you may remember, took much longer than envisaged and I decided that as we had done without most of the various cake tins, dishes etc. for that amount of time I might as well get rid of them. They were all big family sizes so I replaced some of them with smaller dishes but kept some of the smaller canapé type dishes and my favourite butter dish which is silly as I don’t use it except when people come around which is rare but it is very pretty, a white porcelain dish in a wicker basket and a crystal lid with a silver knob on. It was my grandmother’s and both of my sisters would dearly love to get their hands on it.If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together
