    Heated clothes airers

Does anyone have an electrically heated clothes airer?
    Would you recommend them?

In winter we mostly dry clothes around the house on airers, we do have a tumble dryer in the garage which we use very rarely.

Chatting with friend before Christmas she was saying her son had a heated airer and found it invaluable
I have considered buying one but in the end never actually do it.

Gem, I've often thought about getting one, but the initial purchase price puts me off a bit. I thought if I did get one, I'd get one with a cover, but I don't know if that would restrict the warm air flow, or create damp.

Not everything can be dried in a tumble dryer, and I have a couple of ordinary clothes airers which I use in the dining room. It's a room we can shut off and in the winter it tends only to get used as my hobby room.

I'd be interested to hear other Grans' experiences of the heated ones as well.

I have a spare room with 2 wall racks to hang the washing on, no heating at all, it is always dry the next morning. In fact the GD,s say there is no heating at all in the apartment 😏. Do always have the window s open for ventilation.

I have thought about getting one,but still unsure.
We have an ordinary airer in the spare bedroom, and up to now,its done its job well.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Thinking about the cost of buying a heated airer, I feel I could get a lot of hours tumbler dryer use for that, and our tumble dryer is very efficient. I still can't make my mind up.

My friend said that her son said it works out a lot cheaper than a tumble dryer - but I don't know if that's true!

The adverts always stress how low the running costs are, don't they. I'm undecided!!

Daisy, as you say, you can get a lot of dries out of your tumble dryer for the price of an heated airer.

I haven't a tumble dryer, I must say I am lucky here with the drying on my balcony, on Sunday I got all washed and dried with it being so sunny, the same would happen today if I had washed.

I have a tumble dryer, as I don’t have an outside line now.

I use my tumble dryer all the time,
I also have a nice boiler cupboard that gets very hot and anything that can't be dried in the tumble I can put on hangers and I have hooks I can hang them in there from and they dry very quickly ,

My SIL2 has just bought a heated airer but I haven't asked her how she finds it,
She did have one of those air buddies from Lakeland with the cover but didn't like that at all and said if you fully loaded it it took ages for the clothes to dry especially Jeans.

Oma, that's interesting. I hadn't thought about jeans and how long they might take to dry. It will be interesting to see how she finds her new airer.
