    Awful smell?!

Yesterday OH commented on the not very nice smell she had detected recently in out bathroom, and said she had been putting bleach down the toilet to try and counteract it.

What was this allegedly horrible smell you may ask?
It is the Avon white jasmine and neroli reed diffuser which I bought last week. I think it smells lovely and was considering buying another! Maybe not then

I was reading an article about the sense of smell the other day, and it is a very individual sense, but very powerful.

I don't like the smell of jasmine, gardenia or worst of all, geraniums (as in pelargoniums).

I always fancied having a lilac tree in the garden but OH hated the scent, I liked it!
I remember in the early days of teaching when the children would bring in flowers, one little girl brought in flowering currant. My classroom smelt as if all the cats had been in for a wee! The flowers were very pretty!
I don’t like the smells from Bodyshop and Lush. Have to walk quickly past!

WG I'm the same with those shops , can't bear the smell.

Lilly's give me migrain and I love daffodils but they stink if in a closed room,
I don't like the fresh air smell of washing on the line ,
B brings it in and I have to wait a while till I can handle it,
I hate the smell of cheese especially parmesan and pecorino,or blue cheese ,

But the smell I hate the most out of all of them is Garlic I won't have it in the house.

I don't have a very good sense of smell.
In fact hubby always says if the house burning down around me,i wouldn't smell it.
Like Oma, i don't like the smell of garlic, one of the few things i can smell.
I can never smell flowers from a distance. I have to more or less put my nose into the flower.
Love the smell of bacon cooking though.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

No sense of smell here, I rely on others to buy me scented soaps etc.

My OH says I've got a nose like a bloodhound. I hope he doesn't mean that's what it looks like! The first thing I do when coming into our house is have a good sniff!!

I like some Lush and Body Shop scents, but not others, but the overall smell as you walk into the shop is good. I've got a Lush Orange Blossom candle in our main bathroom and love that. Lilac always reminds me of a family friend who used a lot of Cussons products, like bath cubes and talc. Their house always smelt of it.

I took a party of students round the Bodyshop factory when it first opened, and the various scents were brilliant, although some of the girls didn't like it at all.

I've been using a seaweed shampoo and conditioner recently, and OH doesn't like the smell of that, but I love it.
