    Ironing

I know most of us dislike ironing , it's the one household task I really don't like doing ,
I try to iron the day the clothes are washed and dried so they are not sitting there waiting or piling up.
    I'm
B can't understand why I iron PJ bottoms he says no one will see them in bed 🙄
The same with tea towels , but my Mam ironed them and socks and I just carried on although I have conceded socks these days don't need ironing.

But my pet hate is B has several pairs of cargo pants you know the kind with lots of pockets down the leg and zips.
I have just ironed 3 pairs and I honestly wanted to take the scissors to them,
Who ever designed them are idiots.
Is there anything you don't like ironing and would rather avoid.
My sister irons nothing never has and at times it really shows 😁

I like ironing! I put something interesting on my iPad, usually a drama, and I’m happy….except when I come to anything with pockets etc on the front! I agree wholeheartedly Oma. The person who designed them should be shot!
DD2 irons nothing, She brought GS1s prom outfit here for me to iron, which I thoroughly enjoyed. 😁

Luckily my OH does our ironing!

I used to hate ironing white school shirts and OH's work blouses when we met.

I do it very occasionally but I know my ironing standards are not hers so she prefers to do it

I used to hate ironing school shirts, and OH's work blouses when we first met.

Grauntie, when I used to iron I had to have something interesting on TV or radio to make it bearable.

My friend C says she irons nothing, and neither does her OH.

I don't dislike ironing, but never seem to make time to do it on a washing day, so it sits there like a sullen child waiting for attention.

My OH loves cargo pants as well, but they're the devil to iron, and I have a guilty secret! OH never thinks to check his clothes for dirty marks etc but I do. My war cry is "you can't go out in that, it's dirty". Cargo pants are excluded, unless they really are a disgrace. Normal standards don't apply.

When both DSs had white shirts for school uniform and OH was wearing one for work each day, (15 shirts a week!) I used to use it as "thinking time" for my own job, and it was usually late on a Sunday evening, so I had to get them done.

Good morning, I have never disliked ironing, in fact, I ironed 20 years for the friend that passed away last year, they were both working when I started, to be honest, I still go and iron for her DH! When I was first there the friend told me her dream was a pressing machine for the bedding table cloths etc, it had to be, a few weeks later I walked into the charity shop I helped at and there was one waiting for me to buy!! How I got it in my car, or, how we managed it up the stairs I will never know, 20+ years later it is still working and ideal for bedding etc.

Gosh I have never seen one of those Lizzie!
What a good idea for bedding.

I find it difficult to set up my ironing board, well that’s my excuse. My trousers are about the only thing I iron. I fold the bedding as soon as it comes out of the dryer if I can.

I bought a iron press some years ago , Like you see in factories only on a much smaller scale,I couldn't get away with it ,
It was ok for bedding but too fiddly and cumbersome for likes of shirts etc,
I then tried a hand held clothes steamer, with those you have to have something to hang the clothes on then I scalded myself several times with the hot steam ,
So each time I revert back to my water tank iron.

Lizzie, I remember doing a food photo shoot in a hotel, and the creases in the white cotton tablecloth showed on the images, so I wanted to iron them. The manager put them through a press rather like that, but the creases were still there. But it sounds as though yours works very well! It was certainly easy to use and very quick.

I don't mind ironing. Hubby always tells me not to iron his things, but i don't listen.
Its lovely getting a clean towel and t towel out when they have been ironed.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Nanto, I consider myself something of an ironing slob, but I do like ironed tea towels. I have Irish linen ones and they are lovely when they're ironed and folded neatly.

It’s the only household job I like - apart from cooking of course. It’s warm and I can listen to Radio 4 in peace. Like Oma I iron everything, even socks and knickers. And agree about cargos or walking trousers as I call them. Lots of pockets which are perfect for trekking but a b to iron.

Sum1, I currently have a large pile of ironing skulking in our dining room. I could make you very happy by dropping them off at your house. .

Ironing? What’s that. Like you Sum I used to like ironing, pleased with the finished pile but not any more.

Once I’ve got going I don’t mind it too much.I think thinking about it and working up the motivation is the worst part!
