    Beds

    Well mattresses really,
    What kind do you have?
We changed our memory foam mattress a few years ago as although very comfortable I found it very hot.
We opted for a Premier inn mattress direct from the manufacturers,
At first it was fine but we then found it was a bit lumpy and you could feel the buttons , so we bought a 4 inch mattress topper. That solved the problem , but I find the whole bed is very bouncy.
Not at all like the premier inn actual ones.

With our memory foam one if one of us moved or came to bed later than the other you couldn't feel either of us getting in and settled,
This one if B comes to bed later than me it's like being on a trampoline.
Getting up and down during the night to use the loo you have to move very slowly and as gentle as you can as it's like a water bed undulating.

It cost a fortune for this mattress and we are reluctant to get another one but I think we might have to.
It is very comfy and high , I like a high bed but not sure it's worth the carry on we have .

    Any recommendations ladies?

Oma, I am fine with a mattress if it is hard! I love the one I have now, I have a divan? with en electric motor, which I hardly use, this mattress I bought 4 of 5 years ago. Very comfy!

I have neighbours on the first floor, we all know she can be difficult, but, once a month the poor man is seen with mattresses or toppers!!!

I hear from others that getting the right mattress can be difficult.

      Lizzie,
We. Have a bed in our spare room with a electric motor ,
B uses it when he's in a lot of pain he can adjust the head and feet to get the comfort and support he needs,
Now that mattress is so comfortable but it's only a single bed now,
It used to be two put together as a super king but we separated them and just kept one ,
      I now wish we hadn't.

I have been looking to change my bed but find it is a minefield. I always have back ache in the morning so I really would like to replace it.

Plant, I totally agree. It's such a minefield.

We both like memory foam mattresses and our current one is memory foam with something else. It was fine when we got it, then I found it made my back ache, so we put a mattress topper on and it was fine again. Now a couple of years down the road we are both aware that we have our own little hollows. We've tried turning the mattress round, but that didn't help - we somehow managed to get the other's hollow, but in the wrong place.

So now we are thinking we need to get a new one, but there's so much choice, and the idea of trying them out in bed shops really doesn't appeal to me. We might end up getting another foam mattress online with an option to return it if we don't like it.

Oma, I'm sure I've seen mattresses advertised as "cooling" and I think they were memory foam, although obviously different from the one you had before.

We got a new bed with a memory foam mattress a couple of years ago. Up to now, both of us are happy with it.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Nanto, we've always been happy with our memory foam mattresses as well, but I think our current one is just worn out. It's easy to forget how long you've had a mattress for.

                I agree Daisy you forget,
Our memory foam mattress was really comfy but as I said hot,
It was one of the original type that didn't have air pockets
They are so much better these days ,
We may look for another one.

Oma, was yours a Hypnos mattress?

We have had our bed and mattress many years and are due a replacement.
I must confess we were thinking of a Hypnos mattress.

Oma, I think our current one has air pockets, and it is cooler than the first one. I'd forgotten about that.
