    Bedding

I am looking to change the colour scheme in both bedrooms and curtains ,
I have been looking for what seems like weeks now , trouble is I really don't know what colour to choose ,

Plus what looks good on line may not be such good quality when you order it or the same colour as the photos .

My SIL always requests sample swatches before she orders but I think I may just wait till I can go shopping myself ,

I like my bedroom now but I hate how the curtains hang , although not cheap the quality is rubbish but they go with my bedding , As long as you don't get to close they look the part .

I am thinking with the Curtains to go for a neutral colour that will go with anything rather than match the bedding that way I can choose a heavy curtain .

I also want something with a pattern but not florals , not plain as they show every crease ,
Why does it have to be so difficult

I am the worst person to make decisions but I did change my bedroom bedding and walls but kept the cream curtain as they were expensive from JL. The walls are a shade of grey and the bedding came from Dunelm it is grey and cream diagonal stripes, it looks good with white sheets. Good luck!

I have plain cream curtains in the bedroom. I like plain sheets, but like patterned duvet covers.
The sheets are coloured, but thay all match with the duvet covers.
I've got 8 duvet covers.I went through a stage of buying quite a few. if i saw one i liked,i had to have it.
      Duvet covers are all reversible.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

We bought new bedroom curtains a year or more ago. Nice thick blackout lined ones as I hate any light coming in.
We chose purple. This is not the easiest colour to match. The previous ones were cream and I think we just wanted a change. I now have purple bedding and silver grey both which match well. We have still to paint the walls however, as we haven't chosen colour to go with them!! There isn't a lot of wall to paint as the window is wide and fills most of one wall, wardrobes cover one and a half of the other walls.
I want to paint my ex therapy room walls, so whatever colour we chose will do for both.

I've nearly always had patterned duvet covers and plain sheets and pillow cases, but last time we decorated our north-faacing bedroom I decided I wanted a change. We chose really bright material for the curtains - white background but bright orange with grey and black pattern. We covered the headboard in the same fabric and the dressing table stool. So we got a plain grey duvet cover and white everything else. The duvet cover is looking a bit shabby now so I'll have to think about replacing it. I have others but they don't really go with the room.

I've always been really happy with the quality of JL bedding and if I was buying online that's what I'd get.

Gem - your purple and silver grey sounds lovely - sophisticated but cosy at the same time.

I go for plain! Heavy brown curtains that keep the light out, the same colour on a panel behind my bed then plain cream or whatever duvets, I do have a bedspread as well.

Gems your colour scheme sounds so nice have you thought of silver grey for your walls ?
I have one wall behind my bed in gold swirly type wallpaper and cream painted walls on the other wall I get most of my bedding from Dunelm and am lucky enough to have a big store not far from where I live so can go and see the quality at first hand,my mattress is very deep and Dunelm do the deeper fitted sheets which some shops don't stock, with my main wall being patterned I do tend to go for plain bedding and plain curtains.

Glamm - I remember you lovely, sumptuous decoration in your previous house - I think it's something you've got a fair for. I know you were involved with show homes at one time - did you 'dress' them?

Daisy yes I had some input with the designers who at the time was mainly Arighi Bianchi from Alderley Edge (think Cheshire housewives) they had a massive 3 story warehouse which housed all the furniture set out in themes ie: at Albert Dock we picked all the nautical themes they had such as life belts etc in the bathrooms and bannisters where ships thick rope and bedrooms where rush style carpet .
The bonus for us on the Sales team was when the properties where sold and the site was near finished we had the option of buying the furniture for next to nothing I bought a fab round pine table with 4 farmhouse style chairs and a matching church bench it was amazing and I think I only paid about £150 including the curtains that matched the cushions on the chairs.
At the minute my lounge I have two Cherry Red sofa's and silver grey throws and cushions with all my bits and bobs in silver from The Range where I can spend all day browsing x

Glamm, I could do with you shopping with me I am very conventional not daring at all but I suppose ones choices fit with their personality.

Glamm - in normal times I bet you're in demand as a shopping friend - I get overwhelmed when there's too much choice and lose track of what I thought I was going to choose. It must have been great fun working on show houses like that - and then the bargains as well!

I generally like colour, but get bored easily, but then I'd get bored even quicker with neutral colours! Your red and silver sounds beautiful.
