    Nothing goes straight forward

Why does everything have to be complicated Grrr
Bought new doors to go on a wall cupboard in my Downstairs loo , a lovely high gloss sort of Charcoal grey ,

B decided to fit them this morning only to find they are too high for the old cupboard carcase , the hinges are not in line with the old one ,

So all that had to be taken off the wall and we had to go to B&Q and buy a new carcase to match the doors ,

This means there are holes to fill in then sand and paint and new ones drilled ,
He is at the moment putting the cupboard together and isnt happy with all the extra work .

It will be lovely when its up but why couldnt the new doors just pop on

Oh dear, that is how it goes! A friend had a new floor fitted, the men took the rails off a cupboard door she had, the rails got bent so she has had to have new doors fitted.

Oma - poor B. No wonder he's a bit fed up. Is his cold better now?

We may have told you the tale of woe about our main bathroom! The cupboards had been damaged because of a leak we couldn't see. OH sourced new cupboards which fitted exactly - even to being the right size for the sink. But (isn't there always a but!) the base of the sink had a funny bit of shaping underneath and wouldn't fit in the new cupboard housing. So we had to get a new skin and new taps as well!!!

Its the same with us. Sometimes we have had to change all the kit and caboodle.
It'll be worth it when its done though.
        B working.

He is feeling a lot better but i think he wasnt banking on all this fuss ,
Anyway all the holes filled in with quick dry filler he smoothed them as best he could so they dont need sanding ,
As they will be behind the new cupboard we decided painting was a waste of time and effort ,

New cupboard is now up and shelves in , doors and plinths have to go on but the heavy part is done , lots of balancing the cupboard on step ladders etc as with my bad shoulder and arm i could only support the cupboard on one side while he put brackets and screws in .

Its gone better than we thought really just a pain it had to be all renewed rather than just the doors

Im pleased its not just us this happens too You just dont think of all the problems when you get stuff done do you .

Glad the job's done, Oma, although I'm having a quiet bet with myself that one day you'll go back and paint over the filled-in screw holes, even if they are inside the cupboard!

You're right about not seeing some problems before you start. But as they say, you live and learn. The trouble is mostly these type of problems are with one-off jobs so your hard-won experience is never put to good use.

Hahaha!! One night when you can't sleep I think you might still whip the backing board off and paint that wall!!!

Glad the job is finished for now, though. Is B feeling ok now?
