Plant - are they what are also called edible dormouse? I've never seen one, and probably wouldn't recognise one if I did!

Thanks, Nana, for the link. I was trying to remember where I'd vaguely heard of them, and it must have been from when we lived in Bedfordshire years ago. It seems crazy that they are pests but you can't control them. I think we have to live alongside our wildlife and it's all precious, but creatures that chew through wires can cause fires and are dangerous to everyone. They're not even a native species.

They are terribly cute, but not running free in your house I'm sure!

I have a WI friend who had a problem with mice, she used to trap them and as she doesn't drive, she used to put them in a cage in her garage and feed them until her DD could drive her a distance away to release them.
My OH wasn't as kind, he had problems with mice eating all the peas he planted.What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
