Daisy we had to run it first with small amount of water and a little washing powder. We followed the instructions this evening, only to find it takes hours! OH managed to speed it up a bit but it still took a long time.

That's what we couldn't get our heads around Lizzie. Newer washers have long programmes as that apparently saves energy!

Lizzie - over 4 ½ hours! I'd never get through the washing, but as Gem says, I suppose you can put it on overnight. If I haven't got a full load I often use Fast Wash which takes an hour at 60C and 30 minutes at 30C, and I find that really useful.

I use the fast wash mainly on my machine. The clothes are never really dirty, most just need a bit of a freshen up. I use 30 degree wash mostly and 40 degrees for bedding and towels. I run a 90 degree wash occasionally, with nothing in the machine to give the machine a good clean out.Always face the sunshine and the shadows fall behind you.Comment
