    Decorating

This morning I decided was the day I would paper the downstairs loo and the main wall in the hall ,

I have come to realise that I can no longer do papering , I am absolutely shattered ,
I can emulsion and paint no bother ( apart from falling off ladders )
But Papering now is too much '
I started in the loo and it has a few tricky bits like around loo and Extractor fan , not a problem in the past but now my hands shake so much cutting around things and a straight line is a nightmare , I had to keep stopping to let the shaking subside a little , Plus the paper is like a cloth material and you paste the wall , it wasn't the easiest paper to cut ,

Got that done and started on the hall ,
Now the wall I was papering has Alarm sensor at the top in the corner , half way down a Alarm box ,Heating switch , temperature sensor and a light switch with little gaps in between .

The paper for this was a little lighter but still lots of fiddly bits for wobbly hands .

What would at one time have taken 1 hour tops has taken over 3 hours

I now realise any papering in the future will be done by someone else ,

I am beyond tired and now have a stonking headache, Back ache and neck pain .

I now know my limits ,

On the plus side my new Oven is in and working great

Oma, at least you know your limits now.

We get someone in now to paint ceiling and walls, but hubby doesn't mind papering.
He doesn't mind doing gloss paint either.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good lord woman! Rest and take some painkillers. We all have to come to terms with things we used to do but are not up to any more.
      Now you know, regarding papering.

Gem I got quite cross with myself , it so frustrating not being able to do things ,
You know the shaking doesn't get to me I laugh it off but this morning it was a blooming pain in the bum

I have never tried papering, in fact I hate decorating, done a bit of it in the past to help OH but I leave it to the professionals now. Pleased the oven is working well Oma. Now stop it young lady and rest.

Oma, I know how you feel, felt like it a few times! Take it easy and accept what you can't do, not easy I know!!!

I agree with Lizzie, Oma. You just have to accept things that you can't do anymore. Well done for getting it done. I have been pruning buddleia bushes this week and I've really struggled to cut some of the stems and will have to get OH to cut them a bit lower with a saw. My hands aren't as strong as they used to be and ache and hurt if I do too much.

So no wondering you're shattered. I hope B is cooking a yummy tea for you in that nice new oven.

Same here, Oma. It's frustrating and it's usually the simple things that get to me, like opening jars. I've got a gadget for that, but it's still more of a struggle. Even things like tins of beans or tomatoes with ring pulls are hard. I'm not old yet, for goodness sake!

B - duck with plum sauce, green beans and potatoes - yummy, yummy, yummy. You're a star.

I know what you should do!
Treat yourselves to a night or two away, you both deserve it, in a nice hotel with bath
