    Bathroom flooring

What type of flooring do you have in your bathroom?
Our bathroom floor space is small, so the flooring would be fairly inexpensive to replace, but we haven't got around to it.
OH fancies carpet. I don't think I have ever had carpet in a bathroom.
Our downstairs loo has floor tiles, so we wont be replacing those I don't think.

As its a wet room it has that anti slip flooring that goes about 3inch up the side of the walls like in Hospitals ,
Downstairs loo flooring is tiles the same ones that flow through the utility and Kitchen

We've got tiles in the cloakroom and ensuite - the same tiles that are on the walls. In the main bathroom we have bathroom-safe vinyl type flooring that looks like limed wood.

My DS2 has carpet (inherited) in both cloakroom and bathroom and it's quite hard to keep clean with children around and difficult to hoover behind the loo, basin etc.

We used to have floor tiles to match the walls but when our bathroom was redone about 3 years ago we had non slip bathroom vinyl. It looks like mosaic, is very soft and warm to the touch, lovely to walk on in bare feet. Very easy to keep clean too. Years ago we had carpet in the bathroom but wouldn’t have it now, not very hygienic and hard to keep clean.

I agree about the carpeting, I don't fancy it really.

Mine is the same Oma's in a bluey grey colour it matches well with the black and grey tiles,I found a black & white shower curtain so with it being a wet room and having a large shower space I fitted 2 curtains and bought the loo seat to match it turned out very well
we have always had tiles in our other bathrooms/ensuites as I have always found carpets do tend to smell damp after a while.

I have non slip vinyl flooring in the bathroom. It has a tiled look, but isn’t cold like tiles. I had carpet in the bathroom many years ago, but I find vinyl is much easier to keep hygienically clean.

My pet hate is carpet & loo together. My sister likes to have those little matching set things ... loo seat cover, mat in front of loo & bathmat. Yuk.🤢 ok if washed regularly I suppose. (No offence intended anyone).

I have like a lime washed laminate in bathroom & downstairs loo. Can you remember that ditty from years ago...

My GSs haven't quite got it right yet.😉

I still like my en-suite carpeted, have just had it renewed when I had new carpet in the bedroom, I am the only one who uses it and only use it as a night time toilet and where I clean my teeth. My other shower room/toilet is tiled but I still have a toilet mat and a shower mat. I will put them away when and if you ladies visit. I don't have a toilet seat cover though, I draw the line at that.

I think Carpet is ok if just women but when you have men in the house especially little boys who cant aim straight its not nice

My Sister used to use a Pedestal mat and sink mat and the loo seat cover , but she lived alone , I didn't mind the mats but the lid cover I hated .

In my Downstairs loo( that doubles as a temporary Morgue in the winter its so cold even with heating on you could keep dead bodies in there )
Its tiled so I have a little washable rug on the floor to stand on between the loo and the hand basin opposite ,.

Plant and Oma, I agree that in female only households carpet is no problem, When we moved here we were an all female household, with a baby granddaughter, and only rare loo trips for the SILs. Since then two boy have arrived in the family!!

Nothing wrong with those little mats Plant They go in the wash so it's not a problem.

Sorry Plant. I did say no offence to anyone. I'm sure you keep your's lovely & clean. I agree with the ladies only thing Oma. Why have a loo seat cover? Does the lid need to be kept warm? Well yes, obviously in Oma's loo by the sound of it.😂🤣😉
