    Just when you think.

You don't have anything big to replace in the near future what happen's ? the washing machine goes and dies on me I have had this one 8yrs now and to be quite honest it was used 3 times a week at the most as there are only the 2 of us now,I wonder why items don't last as long as they did because I remember my 1st washing machine lasting us years.
We are very lucky to have an indepentant dealership right at the top of our Road where we have bought a lot of our white goods over the years I have sent family and friends to him on a regular basis over the years so know he has a good reputation,John walked around to his store and asked for a 1400 spin and A+++ machine and we had one delivered and fitted by 3pm yesterday and the old one taken away all for under £300 so a good deal all around, but something we could have done without with my holidays right on top of us.

Glamm its always the case when you need money for other things ,

We thought our fridge had died the death on Friday , went in for milk and no light no noise nothing ,

Were just saying we would have to go to Currys for another when I noticed the fused switch was off , must have been when I was cleaning the tiles down I must have pressed it , so panic averted

Mind you you got a very fast service there , the type of dealer you would go to time and again , he sounds like hes got a good reputation and these people are hard to find now
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Glad it didn't take too long to get a new one installed.
When we bought our last washer a couple of years ago,we were told the average lifespan for a washer is 7/8 years.
must be right, because all our washers have lasted that length of time.

My auntie who is 90 has a washing machine which is decades old! Nowadays, as you have said they are not designed to last long.

Oma he has such a good reputation and will go out of his way to help anyone, when we lived in the flat we where stuck for space in the kitchen there was only room for a fridge freezer and I had always had a separate freezer stocked up so he sourced me a reconditioned slim line freezer that fitted into the downsrairs store room and only charged us £60 we still have it now in our outside shed

Glamm, suppliers like that are wonderful. For years we had a fantastic repair man. He never overcharged and would always do the most economical job he could. Sadly he’s now retired and I suspect the next time one of our white goods goes wrong it will be “not economical to repair”. 😨

So true Daisy, the machine that broke down had a computer type programmer and to replace the unit was about £200 + the labour charge so for slightly more than that we could buy this new one with gaurentee for 3 yrs and 10yrs parts so we had the choice made for us really and needless to say this week-end I have tried and tested the new one this last week-end and am very pleased with the purchase.

Well done Glam. A good tradesman is hard to find these days. Pleased it works well too.
