I was listening to the local radio gardening program and several listeners had asked why their plants were having another burst of growth and colour, and the ‘expert ‘ said it was because of the long hot summer we have had . I have some polyanthus waiting to go into my wheelbarrow planter but it is bursting with my summer plants and they are far too nice to disturb.Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Oma - if you've been deadheading that will make them flower for longer, and even up North it's been warmer than usual. Nature's wonderful - the warm weather keeps the pollinating insects buzzing round and they carry on doing their pollinating job and the flowers keep on flowering! Enjoy them while you can. They look very colourful. I love pinks but can't grow them in the garden.
The frost when it comes will see them off, though.

Most of ours have had a new lease of life the big planters in the front garden are still going strong and look very good I had expected them to be a wee bit bedraggled when we came back but no they are going very well indeed.
I do deadhead them every night when I water so maybe that is the answer,we have even had a second growth of potatoes which has surprised me I thought they where all finished.
I think I will get another 2/3 weeks out of my hanging baskets in the front then have to replant the baskets but they have been spectacular this year.Keep Calm,You're Fabulous
