    Cleaning advice please.

I was lucky to win a stroller from Ebay today. Cath Kidston fabric (whoohoo). The seller said it's been kept under the stairs in a cupboard so needs a clean as it smells 'musty'. Any ideas please other than washing? I don't know if washing will be enough to get rid of the smell. Any advice please?

Rub Bicarb all over it and leave for a few hour before hoovering off or there is a really good spray by HG gets rid off smells its about £5.99 a bottle , we had a chair stored in the shed over Christmas and it smelled a bit musty and I tried all my tricks but this spray worked a treat , takes a few hours to work but brilliant '

          Good advice from Oma

I was going to suggest Fabreze spray and leaving it open in the fresh air for as long as possible.

I'm off to B&Q to buy some for the cover off my garden chair which got damp last summer when left out all night by mistake, will then send down to DD so she can treat DGSs trainers seeming that it works so well on Oma's DGS trainers.

I get the pushchair on Tuesday as it's from Wales. Once I see it I'll go to B&Q on Wednesday (use my card) to get some. Oma you should get commission.😉

Update....well the pushchair arrived & the fabric smells really bad. Washed it all in the washing machine 1st. Left it out to dry in the hot sun last week. No improvement. OH power washed it. 😨 Repeat drying process. No improvement. Took it to DD1 who'se spectacular at 'doing up' push chairs & selling them on for a little profit.

Decided to contact the seller & she's given a full refund & said to keep the pushchair. So very generous. So....washed material parts again in washer twice more. This time added white vinegar + Oxy. Not much difference. I went to B&Q for the spray last wk but it wasn't on the shelf...had it for everything else but not the one I need. Think I'll send for some from Amazon. So the saga continues. A pongy saga at that.

We bought a well known make of pushchair they were expensive for a twin one, so found one on gumtree thought it would save dil trailing hers, it was a house not very well looked after shall we say, we put it in the conservatory and set about cleaning it, bought upholstery cleaner, put the material bits in the washing machine did all sorts but we couldn't get rid of the smell. we took it to the charity shop in the end

Oh Qwerty. Now I think I have no hope if you couldn't get the smell off your pushchair. 😂 Gem I just can't get rid of that musty smell. I will give it a spray with the stuff Oma suggested & if that fails I will say goodbye to the bl****d thing.😠

Plant. The seller said it had been kept under the stairs. It obviously hadn't, more like a damp out building. The material on the pushchair smells very very musty & nothing I do seems to shift it. I'm trying so hard because it's a beautiful pushchair.
