I told you cleaning was a bad thing!

Today I was cleaning the bathroom, wearing the summer dress I had worn to the meeting that morning. Somehow I managed to get the hem of my dress, which is one of those handkerchief ones, which are uneven, into the toilet. The loo had just been cleaned, flushed then bleach poured down!
I have only had this dress a few weeks and worn it a couple of times, so did not want it ruined!
I had to take off the dress as quickly as possible, rinse it then put it into the sink for a handwash. I then washed my leg and feet in case bleach had splashed me.
I think my dress is no worse for the experience, but that's what cleaning does for you

Oh no, I hope it is okay Gemini, I managed to bleach the bottom of the legs on a pair of trousers, standing in the shower tray whilst I was cleaning it, fortunately
    they were pretty old.

Gem I have lost count of things I have ruined with bleach I did something the other day I was spraying some moss on my neighbours shed roof ( I know it sounds odd but their shed is up against our garden fence and he cant get to that bit ) so I was up the ladder spraying the moss to kill it off , About a hour later I noticed little bleach spots o my dress , lucky they small and it sort of blended in with the pattern

You were lucky to get to it quickly although some fabrics now are quite good and resist a lot of things ,
Im not fat just 6ft too small

I recently threw out 2 cardigans that had got bleach on the sleeves.
Gem, try not to let this one incident put you off cleaning.

          Shopping arrived spot on 8.30.
All jobs done now, having a bit of quiet time.

I've always known cleaning was bad for you - and your wardrobe. I remember once splashing just one spot of bleach on the cuff of a brand new pink blouse. There was no hiding it, but i found if I dabbed the white spot with one of those pink marker pens it covered it nicely.

I have lost count of the long sleeved TShirts that became three quarter sleeved. Truly a perilous pastime as Nana says. Now Qwerty, are we to understand that this is how you do yours? Do you have close neighbours?
Gem I’m glad your dress wasn’t spoiled. It could have had a straight hem by now!
