    Oh dear - I can remember (when I was a very, very young child!!!) hearing the same conversation about farthings! They were very small and had no meaningful value.

      I heard yesterday that we ( the public) have until 15th October to hand in or spend the 'old' £1 coins, ie. the ones with the round edge. I think it's time for OH to empty his oversized Whiskey savings bottle.👍

            After 15th October you will still be able to take them into a bank (if you can find one!) and cash them in - just in case anyone finds a secret stash in their loft!
