I had a notice on line saying my car tax was due, I thought this was from the tax people but it turned out it wasn’t. A company named PYD*motor vehicle.i latched on, you think you are filling in a form to pay your tax, they have all the details of your car and then you find they are taking £7.85 from your bank account and nothing about your car having been taxed. I contacted the fraud dept. Of my bank and they gave me a number to phone which I did and the person agreed to repay one £7.85 although there were three. I checked my account a day later to see all the payments had been refunded. In the meantime my car was not taxed and the reminder had expired. I am not as alert as I should be to these scams.

Plant, that seems to happen far too often at the moment. A good thing that you got your money returned, now I hope that you can get your car officially taxed!

The other one is a so called reminder for your TV licence! You've got to be so careful these days, because the scams are so legitimate looking!

Yes, they even have the DVL badge on their page. I thought I was asking for a reminder

I received a message from my credit card company, it looked very official, only thing it was a scam!
