    Pensions Increase

I got a rather official-looking letter, marked "Important" today. It was from the Pensions department informing me that I have received an increase in my State pension.

How exciting! Then I read on - it's all of 25p a week. Honestly!

So after some thought on what to do with such largesse I decided I'd save it up for 4 weeks at a time and buy a stamp. I'd even have a bit of change. Errr ..., no, a first class stamp now costs Β£1.10.

So I'm looking for suggestions - all legal ideas will be considered!

Daisy, just drafting a begging letter seeing as you obviously now have riches beyond your dreams πŸ˜…
Honestly, it's a joke isn't it, what on earth can you buy for 25p ? Even a supermarket basic packet of paracetamol is 39p
Oh hang on I notice that a bar of Ferrero Kinder Happy Hippo single bar of chocolate is 25p , sadly that won't get you any change but enjoy anyway πŸ˜‰
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Wow Daisy, that increase must make you feel like a millionaire.
That letter seemed to arrive a bit late.
We both got ours a few weeks ago.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I am still trying to think of something which costs 25p. I would hate you to squander it unwisely Daisy.

Now steady on Old girl don't let all that wealth go to your head and get giddy about it
I mean 25p what are we supposed to do with that ,
You could maybe get a single apple or a couple of Carrots but what else would 25p buy ? as Gem said its hard to think of anything .
AS you say wont even buy a stamp if you saved for a month
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Mimi, I will gladly consider your heart-rending begging letter, and out of my sympathy for your situation I will gladly donate 50% of my extra riches with you. I think that makes it 12 1/2p a week. Would you be able to pay the postage for me to send it, please?

This is a time limited offer, though as I'm just on my way to the sweetie shop to treat myself to a Kinder Happy Hippo bar.

Plant, I'm so sorry you are feeling deprived, I wouldn't have mentioned my new-found wealth if I'd realised. x

Nanto, I always assume we get official stuff later than most because we're near the end of the alphabet!

Gem, if you come across a really wise way of investing my new riches, please let me know.

I know we're joking about this, but more seriously, I do think there's something badly wrong with a system which allows such nonsense. Probably several times that 25p (Β£13 a year) must have been spent on the admin to get the letter sent.
