    PPI

Spoke to my sister yesterday, she is 90 and although has many medical problems she is very alert and occasionally still drives. Someone approached her about her entitlement to a PPI refund. Of course she was very wary but told the company to go ahead and check. The outcome was that she received over £2,000 from a club, probably Littlewoods ages ago, could be as much as 50 years. The company paid her in full and she paid them £175. Lovely surprise for her, she lives on a pension still in her own home. Have any of you ladies been approached?

    How wonderful for her Plant

No, I haven't. My eldest daughter received some PPI (which she is using to come to Florida next year) But I don't know if they approached her.

I have always thought it might not be a good path to go down.

I checked things out on the moneysavingexpert, as we expected, nothing for us.

A few years ago our youngest had a girlfriend who was a bank manager.
She sorted things for him and he got a decent amount back.
I think it was from a mortgage he had.

My SIL was filling out forms to make a claim but I’m not sure how much was involved! The forms were quite detailed!

My DIL has sent off her forms, Shem, but I don't think she's heard anything yet. I'll have to ask her.

Plant, that was a nice surprise for your sister, and Gem for your DD1.

I had a phone call this afternoon, they took all my details but I doubt if I am candidate from the questions I was asked.

                      Plant, it's worth a try.

My second daughter just went to transfer money to me for pantomime tickets, and discovered that £3000 had gone in to their account, from a PPI which SIL applied for just on the off chance!

Gem - what a lovely surprise for your DD2.

My DIL2 has had to supply copies of various documents, so it's in progress. Fingers crossed - a little windfall would make a big difference to them.

Oh I hope they are lucky Daisy!

I think this will really help DD2's family with our Florida holiday next year. Having 2 children to pay for will be very expensive and ticket prices for children over 2 are almost adult prices (and in fact I have just realised that at 10, which she will be by then, GD will by then be an adult as far as pricing goes! )

It’s always lovely to get an unexpected cash injection. I hope the people who don’t qualify though don’t feel too disappointed. I haven’t applied. I am sure I wouldn’t qualify. The only possible way I might qualify would be via a mortgage. But since my hubby was a building society financial advisor, I doubt very much if he would have mis sold himself anything!
