    Scams

Just had a call from a man claiming to be from the Visa Verification, he said that my Visa had been used this afternoon to purchase £300 worth of goods from M&S was that me. I replied no and told him we are all wise to this scam now so he was wasting his time and I would check with my bank. He was very polite and replied yes check with your bank and rang off. I am waiting for a call from my bank I have already checked using the telephone number on my card and there is no transaction today. When will they see that they have overplayed this scam.

Plant, i know this scam has been going on for some time.
But, some do still fall for it.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I have had an automated call from so called BT for weeks now sometimes 3 times in a day, we have nothing to do with BT and we are ex directory , and I’ve lost my manual how to block the flipping caller such a nuisance

I think these scammers are pests - the lowest of the low, ready to steal from anyone. Well done Plant for telling him what a creep he is.

Qwerty - we keep getting the 'your internet will be terminated by BT today' scam!

We do too!! Now I don’t answer the phone if I don’t recognise the number or if it’s not local. If it’s really important they can leave a message.

We do too, and we don't have BT.

Good for you for not being taken in by the credit card scam Plant. These people are evil.

Since before Christmas I have had several emails informing me that there is a problem with my last BT bill payment and I need to send my card details along with a sum of money ( can’t remember exact amount) to the link on the email or my broadband will be stopped within 24 hours.
Well it’s February and I’ve still got access to the internet.

I usually let numbers or names I don't recognize go to answer phone but this was a withheld number and I have a friend who has a withheld number.

I too, constantly get automated calls from BT. I just put the receiver down. I do sometimes wonder if I ever hang up on any REAL calls!

I always put it down and leave it off the hook until they hang up, hoping to tie up one of their stupid phone lines for a short while.
