    TV Licence scam Beware.

As you probably know,we no longer get a reminder for the TV licence.
Ours was due at the end of November.
Today,i got an email, saying ours is due on December 11th. Well i knew that date was wrong.
All TV licences are renewable at the end of the month (whichever month it's due)
The email said there was a problem with the direct debit, and that the bank wouldn't/couldn't release the funds.
We knew the bank had paid it at the end of last month.
After googling, i found out it's a scam.
If you get the email, please don't click on any links,it enables them to get your bank details.
Sadly, someone who is not too clued up,might fall for it.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Well I didn't know we don't get a reminder anymore, I will pass this on to my friends. We pay on a DD so should be safe. But thank you.

aggie - same here! But we didn't realise you have to apply for it when you're 75.

It doesn't happen automatically. So I was about 6 months late applying for it but it was all sorted out within a few days and I even got a refund for the 6 months I'd missed out on. I know you know this, as you have your free licence, but I think there may be others, like me, who don't and could miss out.
