    Fireworks

We have had fireworks going off every night for more than a week now , tonight is no different ,
DD just text to say Storm has sat in the garden for more than half hour watching them and wouldn't come in till they finished , he then kept running to the door to be out every time he heard a noise.
    That dog is not normal

Talking to one of my neighbours this morning and she's hating it all , she lives alone and is elderly and they scare her ,
Another neighbour has said she will sit with her tonight and bonfire night till they stop , Usually about 9ish
I think we forget some people get very upset at loud sudden noises ,
I personally love to see them and don't mind the noise , although there are some very loud ones around this year ,

They're lovely to watch, and I wouldn't want to deprive children of the Bonfire Night fun we had as children, but I get really fed up that they start the week-end before Hallowe'en and continue to the week-end after 5 November, and then again New Year's Eve, and not forgetting the Americans who live near us and just have to celebrate 4th July with yet more fireworks. The main reason I get fed up is on behalf of all the animals and birds who are terrified each time. We prepare Eva for it and comfort her, but wild creatures have to cope with something which must be horrifying for them. Rant over!

We had the same problem with our dog - it was a struggle to keep him indoors on bonfire night!

Some of the bangers make the ground shake but generally they don’t worry me.

Last night when i was on the computer, there was some really loud ones, kept making me jump.
I don't mind the noise though.
Last night we were stood on the patio watching some fireworks that were a few gardens away.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

It was very quiet near us last night, it was the official bonfire run by the council in our local park, usually we can see them in the sky and hear them but it was very quiet never known it so quiet could just see a red glow in the sky. See what tomorrow brings our g/c are celebrating tonight so it could be busier tonight

I love that Oma,Storm loving watching the fireworks.

What do the ponies do Daisy, as you say wild animals must be frightened.

Plant - I honestly don't know, but I would imagine they go as deep into the forest as they can, away from human habitation.

Oma - Rusty, the madder of our two Yorkies used to go out into the garden to watch and listen. One night a rocket misfired from next door and only just missed him. After that we kept him inside.

Around here we have had them for almost four weeks because of Diwali, Halloween and now Guy Fawkes. It seems never ending at this time of year especially as Diwali is moveable, if it was all at the same time at least it would be over and done with.

We didn't hear any last night, but we were at DD2's and they are quite remote. I have looked up local firework displays and was surprised to see several on Sunday. I imagine they would all be tonight.

There are no obvious Diwali celebrations anywhere near here, and there didn't seem to be any for Halloween.

It must be so annoying when they are going off night after night.

Speaking of animals liking fireworks. We generally set off just 2 (biggish) fireworks on New Years Eve. We have to make sure the cats are shut in, as one year one of our cats was right behind OH when she was about to light one! It isnt the fireworks she likes, but humans and whatever someone is doing she likes to be right at their side

One firework was so loud it made our window thud, like a shock wave. Our dog was reallly chilled throughout.

I looked on my twitter page & the local police tweeted some of the calls they had. Seems there was trouble in two diffrrent areas throwing eggs at houses. Someone put a firework through a letterbox. Someone threw a brick through someone's window narrowly missing a child. Drunken kids were throwing fireworks in the street. A fire crew were pelted with stones/bricks trying to put a fire out. What's going on???

                          That's terrible Nana!

We heard some very noisy fireworks when eating at our friends house last night. Hopefully it was less noisy here. Cats were fine when we got home.

Why, why do they do these very dangerous things with fireworks, spoils it for everyone else.

Plant - I agree. It's madness, and I think more likely when there's a crowd of youngsters and they all sink to the level of the crowd-influence.
