    Bank holiday weekend

Is anyone going away or doing anything nice?

It is the weekend that our village holds its annual scarecrow competition. For the 2nd consecutive year we don't have an entry. Must do better next year! I want to go around and see some of the scarecrows at some point over the long weekend, but not today as I am taking a rest day!

Tomorrow we are going to DD1's for lunch and to see GS1. I didn't see him last week, and he is going on his holidays next week. He is going to his aunties (DD3) tomorrow afternoon, so we have offered to drop him off there, while DD1 gets on with holiday packing. It is DD3's birthday on May 5th so I want to see her this weekend anyway to give her her card and present.

OH is golfing on Monday afternoon, so I may go and see my mum, and maybe do something else, depending how I feel.

Happy May Day bank holiday, whatever you are doing

Apart from family lunch at a nice restaurant tomorrow we have no plans , we think we may have a day out if the weather is nice just to the coast or a picnic somewhere but mostly we want a rest so see how it goes

What we have planned isn't exactly light hearted fun .
On Monday 1st May my dad would have been 100 so DD, SIL and two GSs are coming up to see us and we are going to the cemetery to lay some flowers in the garden of remembrance and then we are going for a meal where DIL and two eldest GC will meet us. Unfortunately out two DS's are both working so they won't be joining us.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Grand Prix weekend so we are not likely to go very far. Quite a few people forgot it was a bank holiday. I wonder how many people will turn up for work on Monday morning?

On Monday we are going to Wales for 5 days, staying at an hotel overlooking Cardigan Bay. Hope the weather is nice so we can get some nice walks in. Enjoy your BH weekend ladies 🌞

I completley forgot about the BH weekend with all the goings on in our house until this morning when John asked what meat we are having for the Holiday Sunday ? "What Holiday Sunday replies me " so off for a leg of lamb for roasting on Sunday and quick invite to DS1&2 with their wives to show them the progress with the new bungalow only DS2 and his wife can make it as the other couple are going away for a few days,DS1 will call in on Tuesday on his way home from work so I will will still see him (not upset about not seeing his wife) So lets hope the sun is out and shining as I will be able to dine alfresco on my smart outdoor furniture for the first time, not that I'm bragging in anyway at all.

Nanto - no chance of us going anywhere either! I took Eva out this afternoon for a walk with about a dozen other dogs. Our trainer organises is about once a month and we all walk round an all-weather play area - round, and round and round! For some reason we call it Roundy-Roundy!!! Today there were a few children playing football in the adjacent park area and the ball kept slamming aginst the metal fencing and frightening some of the dogs. At one stage I thought I would have to pick Eva up and carry her - she was just rooted to the spot!

The plasterer is catching up with work on our kitchen and dining room this week-end, so the house is full of plaster dust, so I'm hoping it stays dry so I can get out in the garden, out of the way.

It's our 34th wedding anniversary today. Bad planning really with the Bank Holiday and then we've Hubby's birthday at the other end of the month when it's half term and the B/H too. Makes everything busy and dearer.
Nothing special happening here, I've even been ironing!
                      Where's the romance?

Grannyjules - very happy anniversary to your and Mr GJ.

Romance sometimes pops up in unexpected ways - we rarely celebrate our anniversaries, but tonight I might get lucky and be treated to a Chinese as the kitchen is covered in plaster dust.

I've been spring cleaning our shower room today! I've scrubbed off the gunk that seems to accumulate in the ridges of the shower doors - horrible tough limescale gunk! And I've cleaned all the hidden nooks around the radiator pipes, wiped down the window frame and cleaned the floor - even getting into the corners with an old toothbrush. Please don't tell Oma or Qwerty, though - they might try and kidnap me for their bleach babe tribe.

GJ, romance is not love, and love is not romance! Many people don't even celebrate anniversaries after the first couple. I'm sure love is there
