Last bank holiday before Christmas!

All days feel a bit like bank holiday now!
We are going out for an early evening meal. Friends suggested we join them to take advantage of the last day of the Eat Out To Help Out scheme.
Nothing else planned but perhaps a trip to Aldi - the first since before lockdown!

We tend not to go out on Bank holidays if we can avoid it - everywhere's packed with visitors. It's the downside of living in a place everyone wants to come to. We know how lucky we are to be in such a beautiful place but on Bank holidays we stay put!

We just visiting the Range and Asda that's it for us we never seem to go anywhere on Bank holidays as Daisy said always crowds

I stay put on BH as I can go out other times. I hope the forest isn't too crowded Daisy, I don't suppose the coaches will be running yet.

A lovely day for the coast, and I would love to go, as we have had only one trip since lockdown on a windy wet day!
We won't join the long traffic queues though, even if we could manage to find a quiet spot when we got there.

I’m off to lunch with my sister and brother in law. We are taking advantage of the last day of the ‘eat out to help out’ scheme. We had to phone quite a few restaurants to book a table because of the restrictions.

Well, I’m tidying the garden and believe it or not it’s sunny and warm in Manchester. My eldest granddaughter is coming for tea and then a game of scrabble. Exciting life or what! 😅 hope everyone enjoys their day.

Went out for a walk earlier. There weren't as many people around as I thought there might be. Even the pub on the river which is normally heaving on a BH had empty tables on the river bank. It was a lovely day, so I was surprised to see it so quiet.

Just waiting for an apple cake to bake. I found a couple of tubs of stewed apples yesterday in the depths of the freezer so I thought I'd best use them up as I expect I shall be adding some new ones once I've picked the fruit from the tree. The branches of the tree are almost touching the ground, there's so much fruit on them.

Seems strange to think that we're heading into Autumn doesn't it? So many things missed this year.

WG, I don’t have a apple tree but a friend is very generous with her windfalls. All cooked and in the freezer.

Our apple trees have provided a feast for the birds this year. The very early one dropped its fruit at the beginning of July - I think it was suffering from the drought. The other one also dropped quite a lot but there are a few to pick soon. But I forgot to put grease bands on in the winter so I expect the apples will come with nifty little worm holes in them. My own fault.

• I love scrabble. I play with my husband and 7 year old grand daughter And she loves it too. Grauntie I am not very good and I fear you will probably wipe the floor with me! Yes, I’d love a game but need to up mine first! I will look up word chums. Never thought about playing online.
