I realised recently that I have little or no English blood. I am half Irish and half Welsh. At least no one pins a punch of half dead shamrock on my jumper and puts green ribbons in my hair! The shamrock used to be posted by my granny and it was hit and miss whether it turned up or not. Same with the turkey at Christmas. If one family’s turkey didn’t arrive then other families would share theirs. Very different times and not very hygienic as the poor bird just had an address label tied around it’s leg and was wrapped in a mutton cloth and posted. We survived this so I probably shouldn’t worry too much about CV.xx

Shem - I'm sure the turkey was very tasty after it's adventurous journey.
My GDs were trying to work out their 'pedigree' recently. Both their parents are half English, half Welsh, so they couldn't decide if they were 1/8 Welsh, ¼ Welsh or by a process of adding up half English, half Welsh!
