No romance here Qwerty. I am told “if you don’t know I love you by now, it’s a poor do” 🙄 Anyway, I am having sedation for a procedure on Valentine’s Day so I don’t expect to be much fun...apart from which OH will be at the bridge club in the evening. Oh joy!

We exchange cards and sometimes one or other or both of us may get the other a heart shaped chocolate or something. We don't go overboard, as they say!

Lol GM deep joy there then , but you have a good excuse not to bother, sedation isn’t pleasant is it

We exchange cards & I get flowers. This yr I said to leave out the flowers. I might look out for an indoor plant.

                We don't celebrate valentines day.
The tradition is to get cards from unknown admirers.
We buy each other little gifts like flowers or chocolates all year round.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Nan2, that was my thought as a 21 year old newly married woman! I didn't buy my OH a card, he bought me one, I had to quickly make one, and I realised married people still did that. My parents hadn't so it never occurred to me. He and I always exchanged cards and presents and now my current OH and do, but mainly just a card each.

In America Valentine's cards are given to friends, parents, children etc, different to over here where it is the loved one only, as in the traditional way.

We sometimes do exchange cards, or one of us does! One year we got each other the same card.

OH is going shopping today (I hope) and if I put daffodils on the list I might get lucky! To be honest, I'm not keen on scentless, hot house red roses. We never get each other chocs for Valentine's day. I'm celebrating tomorrow with a trip to the dentist!

We have our special Valentines day in November!

My thought exactly Oma. Grauntie good luck for your procedure. I'll be off to Physio (dental). Who knows he might treat me to a Morrison's meal.😉

Qwerty, my OH was the most unromantic man. All the 50+ years we were married I always bought my own Birthday and Christmas present, he was usually with me. I did get a card on my Birthday, I think he was too frightened not to buy one.

We don’t do Valentine’s Day any more, after 55+ years together no need really. It’s DHs birthday tomorrow and DGDs too so we always celebrate that day.
