    Poor Eva

We saw some pretty sparkles in the sky driving across to our friends last night. We heard quite a few bangs throughout the evening.

And still more tonight. Fair enough, it is the 5th, but we've already had 3 nights of them. They do look pretty, I just wish they didn't go bang!

Cleethorpes used to have a big display down on the beach, but it became so popular they had to stop it for Health and Safety reasons. So really there are problems either way, letting the public buy their own, or big displays.
I really think it should be for one night only though.
Luckily Fred has been ok this time around.
I've been playing him a recording from the Dogs Trust for a few weeks , but he never bothered.
Sorry to hear of the pets that are really frightened by them.

That's a good idea GJ letting him hear them in advance at his age , I think Storm is laid back as he was only a tiny pup first time DD took him to fireworks display , she tucked him in her coat with his head out so he felt safe but could see it all , so now he doesn't care slept through most of them tonight ,
Taking him home and trying to get him in car was fun he wanted to sit and watch the sky we had to lift him in the car at the finish

I was surprised how many fireworks we heard last night.
That should be the last of it, surely?

Dogs differ so much in their reactions to bangs, don't they?
My ex BIL's family had a lovely little dog. We couldn't pull crackers at Christmas or New Year at their house though, unless we took the snaps out - she was terrified!

Asked DD last night how Dexter was, he’s so laid back that daft dog, he was asleep! He barks at the lawn mower but ignores the fireworks 🐶🎇

I tried playing tapes of fireworks last year. Eva was fine with that, even at a high volume, but the real thing was a different matter. ☹️

Aww poor little pets not liking fireworks. When our two were puppies we opened the french doors & sat on the back step watching them. Puppies lovingly held close. Consequently neither were bothered by them. Daisy I wish I knew what could help Eva.

Nana that seems to be the key making them feel safe as pups while watching
DD poor little cat Talluhla was hiding in GS1's wardrobe then when we took Storm home she came out and lay in his bed with him tucked into his belly , DD said he wouldn't leave her side and stayed there all night with her keeping her safe bless him

Aww Oma how lovely. Time someone enforced a law re limitations on how long fireworks can go on for and more importantly enforcing it.

I have just read that Sainsbury’s are banning the sale of fireworks in its s 2,300 stores .
They say that they are doing out of concern to pets and older people.
Lets hope a few more super markets follow suit !
