I'm feeling very blessed. When our children were small we never made anything of it, it was just a card they had made in school and a posy of flowers from church. But when they reached adulthood I've been fortunate enough to get lovely flowers and cards. This year we went to DS's they cooked a perfect meal of antipasti followed by sea bream with cous cous and Mediterranean vegetables and bubbles. I got some beautiful flowers, a red scarf and super smellies from DS and DD and their spouses. An early night though as I'm not used to drinking quite so many bubbles!

Well I was indeed surprised when I got two texts last night from DIl (Joe and Sadie type) saying she was with the other dil And son and had put a gift on my doorstep as I wasn't in. Mentioned to the others who then remembered we were away! Front door is quite hidden away and not visible from the road. The other was from middle sons partner (the one I never expect to see on these types of days) saying he had put something in the BBQ - a favourite hiding place, it is big. Then an email from downstairs neighbour to say she took delivery of flowers from Ben type son. So all three had made the effort and at least two of them knew we were away! typical that the one time middle son turns up we are not there!
Neighbour says that her partner saw an envelope sticking out from under our gate (enclosed garden) and has put it through the door as was concerned it might be an indicator that people are looking out for places to burgle, he is a big bloke and in most of the time so is now on patrol bless! Told neighbour to keep the flowers, someone should get the best of them and clearly it is not going to be me as we won't be back until late Thursday. If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Mixed emotions Zizi, but get your neighbour to take a picture so you can see what you would have enjoyed had you been there to enjoy them.
