    Hot cross buns

How do you like your hot cross buns?

    Warmed, toasted or cold?

We warm ours. Previously in the oven and now in the air fryer.
    Always with butter.
I actually like them cold too!

DD and I did a HotxBun class the other week! I have to say they tasted completely different to shop bought ones! I like them warm with butter or cold with strawberry jam!

Wee Granny - your home-made hot cross buns looked delicious, and definitely the 'real thing'.

But I do like ordinary hot cross buns from the shops as well, cold, warm or toasted, with butter and perhaps strawberry jam. There seem to be a lot of varieties these days, with things like cranberries in - I don't like any of those so far.

In the days when you could only get HCBs just before Easter I used to get a couple of packs to freeze, to give to a friend who adored them when it was her birthday in July!

I like mine cold and buttered. Hubby not fond of them, but would eat one if there was nothing else.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I used to like them toasted with butter, I think the last time we were in the UK with Easter was 1983, it was a surprise visit, knowing at the time that my father was ill, he died in the June so it was the last time we saw him.

I like mine anyway as long as they have lots of butter on,

Home made are the best but B doesn't make them now.
            I buy a PK every week , I like Aldi's, I wasn't impressed with M&S they were dry .
I don't mind a apple one but I think you shouldn't mess with traditional ones they don't need changing 😁

I’m in the toasted with butter camp. I also agree with Oma, why mess around with the flavours when the original is good.
I saw some advertised with chocolate! Yuk. Not for toasting I presume!

Neither OH nor I fancy any of the alternative flavours and haven't tried them.

I would if I was visiting someone and they offered me one , but I don't feel like spending my money on the quirky flavours

We got a packet of the weird flavours as a substitute one day last year so thought we'd try them. Next time they'd go right back - they were awful.

I’m a tradional hot cross bun fan. Cold or toasted with good butter. Also not a fan of the β€œfancy” ones.It seems the younger generation are more likely to like them.

Clover - I totally agree with good butter, as well.
