How are you spending the Easter Week-end?

I'm wondering what everyone's plans are for the first Bank holiday of the year?

In some ways, I look forward to Easter more than Christmas. I always used to spring clean the house, make sure our DSs had something new and smart to wear, and me as well if funds allowed. They'd get Easter eggs and a small present. We always either had visitors or went out somewhere.

We had visitors yesterday, and had a lovely day. On Monday we are having a family gathering and I'm doing lunch for 18. It will be a cold buffet and I'll cook a large chicken, topside of beef and a salmon, plus the usual things like pork pies, sausage rolls, quiches and salads The weather forecast isn't good for Monday, which is a shame - it would be nice to be able to spill over into the garden.

Today I had massage and we spent a little time with DD3, SIL and baby as they live down the road from where I go for massage.

On Sunday DD2 is hosting a party for GS2's 7th birthday and for Easter. This is the resurrection of the annual Easter party they generally had before covid changed everything.
Family friends of theirs who we know and haven't seen for some time will be there too, so that will be nice. Like Daisy we hope for fine weather so the party can spill out into the garden.
Easter meant a lot to my mum so we would do something with her in days gone by.

I gave the GC Easter eggs this year. I usually give them some sort of non chocolate gift, but this year it was a chocolate egg each. I must say they all looked much more delighted when I gave them to them than when I have given them gifts which cost a lot more!

We are having a quiet weekend ,

B bought a small leg of lamb so we will still have dinner but just us two ,
As it happens SILls Dad has a heavy cold so he isn’t up to it either so I don’t feel so guilty now spoiling plans .

GS1 is still coming on Easter Monday he will get a extra treat with his pocket money for Easter .
