    Christmas Spirit

Have you the Christmas Spirit yet ?
I seem to have been like many others very busy these past couple of weeks , putting decs up, going away , shopping , etc etc that I don't feel its Christmas yet ,
I'm sure the next few days I will , but at the moment I have so much going on in my mind I just haven't felt it .

Don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to it I just don't have that \Christmas excitement yet

Not yet but to be honest it takes longer than usual to kick in now.
When the DC were little the Christmas spirit arrived almost as soon as they had broken up from school. Having them home all day , making last minute Christmas decorations, icing the cake and making mince pies was a sure fire way to bring on the Christmas spirit.
Hopefully it will kick in on Christmas Eve when we go to DS’s and DIL’s and we get caught up in the excitement there.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Like Mimi my Christmas is always about the excitement of the children and looking forward to seeing them on Christmas morning and also the “family day” we have between Christmas and New Year. As my lot are all off in the sun I have zero Christmas spirit and family day is not until 2nd January. Hopefully Christmas Eve when we get to the hotel that will change, at least I now have husband at home until 27th December so not as lonely as usual.

        Same with me .
When I had the boys we would make ginger bread houses , and stuff for the tree with glitter and Christmas card ,
Put the Christmas songs on , go see Santa several times ,
Now I don't see the youngest long enough to spend time doing all that stuff and J is too old , sad in a way but they have to grow up and things change

Yes, I'm definitely have found the Christmas spirit, so I'll send you both some!

As you know I don't start doing anything for Christmas until December so it's all a bit of a rush and bustle to get things done, but all we have to do is deliver local cards and wrap up a few presents for grown-ups who aren't too old to like a Christmas surprise. So today I have to pop over to DS2's to deliver some frozen dog food, stop off at the garden centre on the way back and get a couple of Christmassy plants and make mince pies and an apple pie for DS1.

There is a pile of ironing to do but not too much, and the sucky up thingy needs a bit of a run round the house, then that's it - chores all done.

I’m getting there I always have a bit of a warm rush when the Coca Cola advert is on , I don’t know why but love the music that goes with it “holidays are coming” when I get the Boots catalogue I get a little rush, I have like others been entertaining g/c this week so chaos at the beginning of the week now just starting to think about Christmas. Presents have been wrapped a few weeks now and cards delivered, we had Santa on his sleigh this week in the street collecting for local Lions that was another rush so yeah getting there . Seems strange not getting the turkey Dd wants to do it all herself and who am I to argue🤫
Like Gem in fact I think we are going to the same theatre it’s panto today with Dd and eldest g/c this afternoon think Gem is tonight , we are out for tea in town then, It’s a lovely get together with Dd , I will attempt to get the bus home then as will Dd it’s absolutely manic in Leeds the last Friday so we don’t attempt the car at all. I do think as we get older it doesn’t thrill us quite so much and it seems over so soon for all the time it takes getting ready for Christmas 🎄

OH and I have very few plans between Boxing Day and New Years Eve. I'm sure some things will turn up, but on days they don't we will enjoy just relaxing and enjoying our Christmas decorations and the nice food

I feel it's Christmassy when everything is done.

Sunday evening it will feel Christmassy i think.

None here yet. I do think it’s different when you have little children involved, it’s just not the same with all grown ups. But I know that when we are with DD and her lot on Christmas Day, once we hit the sherry bottle I will definately feel different. Now I’m just glad everything is done and we can just sit back and relax. I’ll put the Christmas CD in later, that will help 🎄🎼🎁

SIL is going to fetch the barrel from the brewery this afternoon so no doubt there will be some sampling this evening. I think for me Christmas Eve and Christmas morning are the best bits of Christmas. Boxing Day we all go to DS's, he makes several curries and friends and family are invited. Apparently the sauces are made and frozen ready, he will also be cooking most of the Christmas dinner. I am having a taxi back from there Christmas evening and my DD and Sil's guests are using the same taxi to take them home. Carols from Kings is a must.

I did have the spirit at the beginning of December when we had our ‘Christmas Starts Here’ Party. A very jolly evening but I knew that I was heading for another chest infection. 🙄 All parties and dinners and drinks do’s cancelled for me. Just beginning to feel better now and awaiting the surge of Christmasness to return. No doubt it will over the next two days.
