I am going to be unpopular with some people!

I have just wrapped the 8 presents for Wales, my sisters birthday present and card (Wales) and written, stamped and dated all the birthday cards up to Christmas (except Ben’s) oh and wrapped sons present for 25th, We are in Stratford on Sunday so will spend a couple of hours looking for Christmas presents. I am giving the sons and dils a basket with six bottles of nice wine and small presents as well, girls have got bracelets, silk scarves, l’occitaine hand cream and I will get them a couple of other little things. Haven’t got anything for the boys yet and only one thing for the grandchildren, an outfit for Sadie. Leaving them until last.

i hope I do not get drummed out of the club for being so early!!!!

Zizi - we'd never drum you (or anybody else!) out, but it does occur to me that come December when I am starting to think of what to get people I can ask all you experts for some suggestions.

I do almost all my shopping on line Daisy which is why I get it all quite early. Usually it is the things for the dils and relatives that I buy first. The grand children are different as you never kniw when they are going to change their minds and the two sons I buy for (I have given up buying for the estranged one) are quite difficult so it is a case of walking around and looking untilmwe see something we both think they will like.

GM - same here! I keep wondering if I should be panic-striken yet - or can I leave it (the panic) for another month or so!!! My mind is still on sorting out the garden for the winter.

Last year unlike us we had nothing in because B had been so poorly , then we got the date for his Bone Marrow transplant ,
It was for the 30th of November and he was supposed to be in Hospital all Christmas
We did all our Christmas shopping in 1 week , how we did it I don't know but we just went head first into it

Oma - when you have to pull the stops out you do, somehow. When I was teaching full-time I used to make a Christmas cake during half term, and then forget about that event until the first week-end in December. We'd go to Southampton really early, do all the present-buying, plus cards, wrapping paper etc in one hit and that was it! I couldn't do such a long day shopping now, and of course with online you don't need to. I don't think I even went into Southampton once last December - I did it all online and locally.

Zizi this is what my Christmas present wrapping looks like at the moment I do have a few presents so far but they are tucked away in cardboard boxes on top of the wardrobe away from prying eyes !

I plan to wrap mine in December with the Christmas music in the background, the tree decorated and the aid of the odd glass of wine
